Run (Belair) 45:00 [3] 7.75 km (5:48 / km)
Woohoo - run!
Went for a run from home into the park. It was a nice morning for a run, but I left a bit late at 11am and the sun had a bit of bite by then. Happy run, la la laaa along echo track below the tunnel. Smiling at a family walking towards me, why are they looking at my feet?.... HOLY MOLEY! MASSIVE FREAKIN BROWN SNAKE! Already in mid stride and about to land on it (it was already reared up and angry as it was surrounded) the adrenalin kicked in and somehow I kicked off with my back foot and launched over it - clipping it's head with my toe - then landed a few cm the other side of it (felt like I landed in the middle of it) and ballet danced away as fast as humanly possible while screaming like a girl. The man commented how far I'd managed to jump and I agree - it's amazing what the body can do when it has to, and so quickly! Rest of the run was just getting home and thanking my lucky stars. My toe where I clipped the snake is still tingling several hours later!
Cycling (Oaklands wetlands) 30:00 [2] 7.0 km (4:17 / km)
Family ride with Tyson, Rob, Penny and the 2 bubs from their place in Warradale to the new Oaklands wetlands and back. I had no idea they'd transformed the old driver training centre into awesome wetlands! There were ducks, baby maned geese and a pelican for the kids to enjoy and lots of bridges and rock-hops. On the way back we put both the kids in the bike trailer and it was the cutest thing I've seen for ages - Paddy pressed up against the side with a curious girl poking him in the helmet. :D
