After Dolf big run yesterday and me still not fully recovered we planned an easy ride down the coast. Met Liz and her mate at waterman, ,wished Liz a happy b'day and headed down to cott and back. Dolf and I couldn't help but race p the hill coming out of swanbourne and then chased a chunky triathlete on a flash time trial bike down WC Hwy after giving him a 3-4min head start.

Nice to have a couple of harder efforts at the end and not completely fail.

Thought I would try running again and today the calf lasted the distance, wasn't quick as I was dragging my lazy girl around with me.

Elongated commute with a few errands after work. Decided to test out my legs and lungs on the hills along the bike path through shepherds bush. Both failed. Chest very tight and some lung pain for a while after. Decided to give a long ride on the weekend a miss in favour of extra quiet recovery.

Planned to head out for a gentle 5km to test out the legs. Started OK but on the first little hill only 300m from the start both calves decided they didn't want to go anywhere.

Had a stretch and took the first short cut option hoping things would improve. Right freed up nicely but the left one which troubled me pre anaconda continued to tighten. Ended up looping shortest way back home to ice and stretch more. Probably just a few days too early to start running again I think.

Strength/Core 45:00 [3]

10 mins of stretching then a set of upper body weights. I think a distinct lack of these was noticed during the paddle leg on the weekend.
