Winter Rally with Sudden, Turbo, and Kate.

Started really strong and made sure I really pushed on the long uphill from aberdeen to the radial as that was where I lost the most time last rally attempt. Over the last split I was hurting quite a bit and the lowry killed me. The conditions were very conducive to fast times (lots of light, no snow, pretty hard surface). My stomach didn't feel great but I pulled through. Kudos to Kate on the female CR and guys on a solid run.

First raid and loved it. Kudos to the people putting this event on. I'm grateful to Nick for asking me to race with him. It was definitely a learning experience and this time* I learned that you should wear multiple layers or a thick warm layer on your legs. After about 90min all the snow kicked up from the snowshoes melted and soaked my legs slowly chilling my body and numbing my legs. Suffice it to say the last hour was a slow agonizing loss of leg muscular control but we finished and did a pretty damn good job for a semi snowshoe virgin** and sick guy. Bring on the Giant's Rib Raid!



*every orienteering race I've done so far has involved a wealth of learning
