bike ride (lounge room) 21:34 [3] 6.0 mi (3:36 / mi)
(injured)

My incision hurts too much to go over any bumps so I'm relegated to the stationary bike. It also hurts too much to wear the HR strap so I've got no clue how hard I was working but after the cool down I was 124bpm. That is not a good sign.

Not sure how I'm supposed to get thru an echocardiogram on Tuesday, anything pulling my skin (i.e. water in the shower) is VERY painful.

My last echo showed FIVE problems with my heart, two of whose names I don't remember - and I thought I would be pronounced 'unremarkable' but I was not. That combined with this escalating pain has really affected my mood in a non-positive way. Fingers crossed I can get thru Tuesday's echo and all those problems have gone away . . . .

bike to/from work 17:31 [3] 5.49 km (3:11 / km)
ahr:105 max:122 (injured) shoes: Rocket

About 1:00 of traffic stops today.

bike to/from work 21:37 [3] 6.05 km (3:34 / km)
ahr:109 max:131 (injured) shoes: Rocket

Decided to take on a hill instead of my usual zig-zag hill avoidance technique. However that spat me out onto Bagot Rd and I didn't want to risk riding down Rokeby so I went back a bit and got to the relatively safety of the footpath on Railway.

bike ride 12:00 [3] 3.0 km (4:00 / km)
shoes: Rocket

Dropped Paul off at RPH to get his hands re-bandaged, then made it to work in just enough time to hop on my bike to blast to the cardiologist office. All to find out that he was running late because he was held up at . . . RPH.

And then blasted back because Paul was done at RPH so I grabbed the Uni car again and went back to RPH.

Having a total guess at the time and distance because I didn't have time to get the GPS out of my bag!

bike to/from work 18:40 [3] 5.73 km (3:15 / km)
ahr:131 max:153 (injured) shoes: Rocket

Not sure what's going on with my heart rate, I'm quite sure these are accurate and I felt fine??

bike to/from work 18:32 [3] 5.48 km (3:23 / km)
ahr:92 max:108 (injured) shoes: Rocket

About a minute of traffic stops. I didn't feel that good when I started but I felt better a couple k's in.

Note

No bike ride home cos I had to go pick up one of our post-docs from the hospital. He had exploded (not on purpose) some sodium hydride, set his gloves on fire, set off the fire alarm, and then got an ambulance ride to hospital. Thankfully he's OK although we'll be in the poo now for lack of lab books and risk assessments and who knows what else.

The hospital freaked me out and made tears come!!! He owes me a beer or 15 for this. :-)
