swimming 15:00 [3] 0.52 km (28:51 / km)

Felt better today, 200m followed by 320m. Could have kept going but I'm trying to work my way back into it (actually I was hearing the voice of my surgeon saying 'don't jump back in the pool and do a whole km first day back.').

gym cardio (dreadmill) 21:00 [3] 2.46 km (8:32 / km)

I woke up too late to run/walk outside so I did a treadmill session which was quite enjoyable as the Ironman race from this morning was on TV again. I had already watched it but I'll happily watch ironmen again and again. :-)

yoga (Happy Hips (long)) 1:19:00 [3]

Note

I AM NO LONGER INJURED.

Today is the magical 12 weeks post op and I am now cleared to do whatever I want!!!

weights 50:00 [3]

Not as weak as I expected on some things, but horrendous on others - triceps dips and bench rows.

swimming 10:00 [3] 0.32 km (31:15 / km)

SOOO nice to flow through the water again, but hard work after the weights.

jog/walk 24:58 [3] 3.0 km (8:19 / km)
ahr:109 max:156 (injured)

7:26 middle km, wasn't watching distances jogged.

paddle 28:39 [3] 3.77 km (7:36 / km)
ahr:106 max:135 (injured)

Muck around in the river with Rebekah and Karen to get an idea of my speed relative to them.

paddle 30:00 [3] 3.0 km (10:00 / km)

Took Julian out at Hillaries on Karl's XT. It was flat at first but in the space of minutes the wind came in and waves came up. Then I felt bad as the poor guy was struggling so I stayed near him in case he fell out. Great to be on the ocean as always and catching waves was just awesome. Downwind time!!

yoga (Happy Hips long) 1:19:00 [3]
(injured)

I'm starting to see how doing yoga frequently is the way to improve . . .

jog/walk 24:58 [3] 3.0 km (8:19 / km)
ahr:130 max:147 (injured)

HR weird, at first I was 215bpm which was wildly off - so HR data a bit of a guess based on the 2ndand 3rd km. Middle km 7:28 with 500m of jogging.

core stability session 10:00 [3]

With the usual light weights.

paddle 1:02:05 [3] 8.1 km (7:40 / km)
ahr:140 max:192 (injured)

Another slow paddle in headwind, then cross chop, then finally wind behind me. However that's the section where my heart got up to 192 and I didn't feel all that great! It took a while to get it back under 155 as well, probably five minutes after I stopped paddling.

yoga (Happy Hips long) 1:19:00 [3]

I got a voucher for Lulu Lemon (yoga clothes place) for my birthday - from a guy I went out with a few years ago . . . what is he trying to say?? So I got a yoga mat and a Happy Hips DVD and dove right in to the 'long' version of the workout.

It was hard work and my hips feel a bit less attached to my body than they did before.

Note

I just wrote my training program, which starts today (sort of, I can't get back to my gym until 1st Jan) and there are 15 sessions a week. This enthusiasm may need to get scaled back a bit!
