paddle race (Paddle Challenge) 1:50:36 [3] 17.41 km (6:21 / km)

Three minutes slower than last year and beat by Anne by a whopping SIX minutes, but it was quite windy and I could definitely have gone harder, I decided to pace myself and as a result by the end of the race I had more in me.

Nice day out on the water though and Raf got 3rd in his category yay for him!

I'm getting a bit tired of the gym, and having motivational issues leaving the house to get there, so I'm thinking of getting a suspension training system that you can hang from a door. I tried Raf's and I'm really impressed, it's HARD and you have to concentrate a lot on balance. Plus if an exercise seems easy you just adjust your foot placement until you're getting the resistance you want.

Bonus is that you don't have to leave the house. :-) I'm getting one!

Group run with some guys (Jas, Robin, Tim) who disappeared pretty quickly and me, Rachel, Kirsten, and Leah bringing up the rear. I didn't feel nearly as bad as I had expected and I even enjoyed some parts of this run!

Auto pause was off and there were a fair few stops to look at maps, etc.

Running with a group makes me run longer than I think I'm happy about, but I can do it, so now I just need to remember that when I run by myself and I may eventually get less shite at this running caper.

Ran out of calories at the 3km point and struggled the rest of the way - but that's understandable as I had very few carbs today! Pizza after was even better than usual though :-)

Yahoo some power has returned. The first couple sprints involved someone in a yellow barge (multisport) angling towards me and banging into me, I think expecting me to fall out or give way??? I pushed back hard enough that he stopped. On the third sprint I decided I'd had enough of this so I went out hard to get in front and managed to hold the bumper cars contingent off.

Did some race start practice at the end too with the other people in the 'fancy boats' instead of smashing into everyone on laps around the island.
