jog/walk (beach) 8:45 [3] 1.0 km (8:45 / km)

I decided to see how running would feel, and I was already at Cott, so I ran on the beach. I managed 300m without stopping, and on the way back about 200m without stopping. This is an improvement over my last attempt at running a month ago when I managed 100m and that was on the footpath.

Time to add running to my training regimen, such as it is . . . .

Note

Shark attack on a ski:

However, the shark didn't go after the guy, even though he ended up in the water.

And in a sign of how tough Saffas are, he kept paddling!!

jog/walk 30:00 [3] 2.0 km (15:00 / km)

jog/walk 30:00 [3] 2.0 km (15:00 / km)

paddle (ocean) 50:00 [3] 8.0 km (6:15 / km)

Making up the distance (forgot to start GPS!) but the time is reasonably close.

This was going to be triangles from Port Beach but with winds only at 12kt it was just as easy to go along the beach into the wind, then turn and come back.

The Mako obviously knows where she is supposed to be, and it ain't the river . . . she handled beautifully both upwind and downwind and caught lots of little runners that the boys were missing. I felt very stable and only had a couple of brace strokes. It was too mild for a downwind but this little exercise was exactly what the doctor ordered.

Bring on 15-17kt and a real downwind please! The Mandurah Duel will definitely be a goer :-)

jog/walk 30:00 [3] 2.0 km (15:00 / km)

paddle (T2 sprints) 48:26 [3] 7.35 km (6:35 / km)

I got promoted to the second grid where I resumed my usual position of Tail End Charlie. I'm getting a bit stronger every week and held my own in the PRS argy-bargy at the start of a few sprints.

Rachel and I cruised to the finish while everyone else went around the island again and arrived just as the wind came in. Another beautiful night!
