paddle (cruisy downwind) 41:44 [3] 6.47 km (6:27 / km)
shoes: Swordfish

A perfect paddle to beat dermoralisation from always being last. Freo to Swannie with Raf and his mate Wes on his first downwind. It was only 10kt but there was plenty out there to catch and I'm gaining confidence in my ability to throw that Sword around.

There was a lot of go-go-stop and wait which was fine today, this wasn't about how fast I can go but more about making sure Wes had fun.

Lovely!

paddle (technique clinic) 2:00:00 [3] 6.0 km (20:00 / km)
shoes: Swordfish

Morning technique session with some interesting pointers, arvo runners clinic with no pointers and repeated 1km into the wind, 1km catch some runners.

Sadly I have lost my GPS, I took it off my ski along with everything else to wash and when I went to pick all my stuff up later, I don't remember it being there. Someone would have seen it - there were 15 skis all in the general vicinity . . . .

In retrospect I should have put it on my wrist immediately.

GPS found! I gave Andrew a lift back to Perth and he took it out of my tub thinking it was his. WHEW!!!!!

jog/walk 30:00 [3] 2.0 km (15:00 / km)

paddle (flat river) 1:03:41 [3] 10.01 km (6:22 / km)
shoes: Swordfish

I had planned on a 16km paddle, but after 4km downstream I came across the waterski area. On Friday nights it must be drunk boat driving and waterskiing area so I turned tail. My wrist and blisters were hurting by about 6km (again!) so when I got back to my start point I put on my glove and did another 2km.

Glove did bugger all for either painful thing.

However I decided to try to push a bit harder tonight and find a pace that I could still maintain for 30km - which I did - and it's the fastest I've gone in ages, and 15sec/km faster than I've been going.

Yay!

jog/walk 30:00 [3] 2.0 km (15:00 / km)

paddle (yucky windy river) 1:31:16 [3] 13.7 km (6:40 / km)
shoes: Swordfish

I was going to paddle at Bayswater and get right in the way of the silly Ascot race again, but the winds were so low that I decided to just do Heirisson Island instead. The winds weren't quite so low by the time I arrived and I had a headwind for 7km which then seemed to die off on the way back.

My tennis racquet grip also causes blisters on my hand but now that the sore bits have actually become blisters, I expect this problem will clear up cos the skin will harden. I need to get further than 6km without pain or else City Lights (30km) will be torture! Only 3.5 weeks to toughen up and hopefully speed up!

jog/walk 30:00 [3] 2.0 km (15:00 / km)

jog/walk (E Perth loop) 51:29 [3] 6.29 km (8:11 / km)
ahr:137 max:157

Either 34 or 36 degrees, depending on if you believe cricket's car or mine. Either way, a bit warm for running but definitely ok for talking! Did the first km in 6:53, all jogging but it felt really slow, even tho it was one of my fastest post-op km.

After that we did a lot of walking and less jogging, which was just fine.

jog/walk (3km tt) 21:08 [3] 3.0 km (7:03 / km)
ahr:149 max:159

6:55, 7:15, 6:54 for a post-op PB by about 30 seconds!

Ran 1.8km straight, walked 200m, ran 500m, walked 200m then ran the rest. This is the least amount of walking I've done on my 3km loop since op #2. Yahoo.

paddle (T2 sprints) 57:25 [3] 9.1 km (6:19 / km)
shoes: Swordfish

I made it thru the whole session and felt really strong, which was a surprise after four days of paddling. Tomorrow: no paddling!

The Sword turns like an absolute dream . . . .

jog/walk 30:00 [3] 2.0 km (15:00 / km)
