Brilliant fun for the first 4km and then that weird bit happened - I'd fall off the back of something despite going as hard as I could, and then the next 3-5 waves went under me before I could get going again.

Not a fast time, but still 4min faster than on a 'faster' ski. Just need to stop the wallowing!

3:40 fastest pace, fastest lap 4:55.

I thought this would have been a post op PB but not even close! On Xmas day I did this in 26:54 . . . .

Bayswater south and back a bit with Raf, who decided to give me an unwanted lecture on wash riding, and then do spots of remount practice. Eventually I explained to him that I was on a 10km paddle and I was going to just paddle instead of stoppping every 500m to see what he was doing!

Didn't see him again until I got back to Bayswater - turns out he was afraid of the waterski area!

Stupid heart valve kept me awake for several hours last night, I'm now starting to fade . . . and I can't skip my 14km paddle tonight cos someone else is coming with me!

16-18kt SW winds turned the river into a chaotic mess! I think we had about 1km of flat water and the rest was either side wind, head wind, or washing machine - sometimes with waves breaking on my head.

I couldn't have done this in the carbon Mako!

Up to 20 push ups now!! Plus four total fails at chin ups, my chin up bar creates a very high gravitational field.

After four fails I resorted to jumping, swinging, and muscle-vibrating for five seconds, twice.

I think my GPS gave me a 20m bonus on this, but still, that time is :40 under my PB from last week. It felt reasonably comfortable too, Hurrah!

My goal for tonight was not to have to look at the arse end of three green PRSs on every sprint, and I accomplished that. I was consistently in front of one, once in front of two and 1/2 boat length behind the third, and on the last sprint I was right beside one who told me to stop paddling so hard at the end. :-)

Stronger every week - yippee!

I also got sent for a swim by the usual suspect in a white PRS - I was in front of him at the turn and he ran straight in to me when I had to slow to avoid running into someone else. Then I had to wait to remount until everyone got out of the way.

So next week's goal - be far enough in front of No Manners Man that I don't run the risk of him running over me.
