bike ride (bike path) 28:03 [3] 10.22 km (2:45 / km)
shoes: Rocket

Managed to pump more air into the tires this time which made me WAAAAY speedy. Ha ha.

learning to run (City Zamia loop) 46:58 [3] 6.8 km (6:54 / km)
ahr:148 max:164 weight:59.4kg

Testing the frooosemide (Lasix) theory that on days after I take my Lasix (just before bed) I perform better. Had frooosemide last night and did an almost post-op #2 PB pace on this run (off by :01/km).

I also swapped back to my old shoes to see if that made a difference to the hip pain and toe squashing, and it did. However I have the blisters on my big toes back. Can't have it all, apparently.

I managed to run almost all of Bold Park, I think being on trails distracts me a bit but also I just felt quite comfortable today.

paddle (river) 1:05:17 [3] 10.01 km (6:31 / km)
shoes: Swordfish

Horrible struggle on the way to the Narrows, at one point I looked at my GPS and saw that I was doing 8:00/km. I think I could run faster than that carrying the ski.

It improved after the Narrows but was still hard work to maintain 6:30/km. But when we turned to come back, WHHHHEEEE 5:20/km. What a stonking current. Still unrespectably slow at 6:30/km but better than having a nap which I was tempted to do instead of paddle.

Yuck winter.

walk 30:00 [3] 2.0 km (15:00 / km)

learning to run (McG Oval) 30:21 [3] 4.01 km (7:34 / km)
ahr:128 max:148

If I hadn't just had an echo two weeks ago, I'd be back in getting one after this. Given my HR data and pace, you'd think I wasn't trying- but I was gasping for air and could only manage 600m in the first km and after that probably 100m or so at a time.

Horrible.

learning to run (bike path 5km) 34:12 [3] 5.01 km (6:50 / km)

Felt like total shit from the first 20m, somehow dragged my rotting carcass 1.2km before stopping for the first walk break with my HR goin' all wild like at . . . 150.

Faaarknell.

Shoot me now and put me out of my misery, I expect I can do 12km at City to Surf???

walk 30:00 [3] 2.0 km (15:00 / km)

An incredibly slow walk home, cold and very achy knees.

Tuesday Jun 12, 2012 #

walk 30:00 [3] 2.0 km (15:00 / km)

With a 300m section of intervals, sprinting from tree to tree to avoid a soaking.

learning to run (TRC course) 1:00:00 [3]

I was really surprised this session didn't get scrapped with such a wild forecast, but it turned out to be a lot less wild than anticipated.

Two laps warm up, stretches, then into sets of 200m at 85% practicing what we learned last week while being videod from front, side, and back. We will get our feedback next week.

Our first 200m bit was into a headwind and driving rain so that should be some interesting footage!!

walk 40:00 [3] 3.0 km (13:20 / km)

TRX suspension 30:00 [3]

Plus physio stuff for my achy knees, and a bit of a fail at chin ups. Got close, but not all the way . . . .

yoga 40:00 [3]
