bike ride (City Beach) 43:02 [3] 15.06 km (2:51 / km)
ahr:135 max:202 shoes: Rocket

Don't think so on the 202 max HR! But it was a PB despite an extra 60m, would have been sub-43:00 if I hadn't managed to make the ride a bit longer.

21:54 to City Beach, about :30s faster than usual. On the way back there were people on the shared path (!!) including a little guy on a scooter who may have been drunk given how he was riding. He came very close to riding directly into me, not too sure how I missed him.

walk (xmas shopping) 15:00 [3] 1.0 km (15:00 / km)

Kirsten's fault for making me do some emergency xmas shopping with her. But I wore my sneaks and managed to acquire a book called 'Anatomy for Runners' that if I manage to make it through, I will be able to intelligently discuss all my injuries with Jacko.

bike ride 38:08 [3] 10.88 km (3:30 / km)
shoes: Rocket

Home to Barretts to get mince pies for 15, then to KEMH where I discovered that others had already brought heaps of stuff. And my promised 'we will reimburse you' did not happen so I'm out $30 and a sweaty bike ride. Yay.

bike ride 4:53 [3] 1.41 km (3:28 / km)
shoes: Rocket

KEMH to home, I've been estimating it as 1.5km and 5 minutes and I'm pretty close.

paddle (cut run) 1:08:22 [3] 12.18 km (5:37 / km)
shoes: Swordfish

19kt SSW at Garden Island but it was a bit confused out there (or I was a bit confused out there) and I struggled to get my eye in. Then my hand started to really hurt in places different to yesterday's blisters but I wouldn't look.

When I got to the end THEN I looked and my hand was covered in blood, blood dripping down the boat, blood on my clothes . . . just a big bloody mess really, no wonder it had hurt so much.

However a couple beers at the club, then dinner at Mark and Helen's, then a cruise around the canals looking at xmas lights made for a really lovely day!

paddle (Ash ocean clinic) 1:15:00 [3] 10.0 km (7:30 / km)
shoes: Swordfish

Didn't have my GPS as it was in the MTB box cos I was going to ride yesterday morning.

I felt a LOT stronger tonight and even managed to catch a couple of the guys on the upwind section.

walk 10:00 [3]

In heels. But my foot doesn't hurt!

paddle (flat river) 1:03:15 [3] 10.01 km (6:19 / km)
shoes: Swordfish

Beautiful morning, overcast and perfect temperature with no wind. Did the first 5km in 30:26 (heading to Freo) but caught a bit of current on the way back.

I also found a 1/2m deep section that lasted about 400m and slowed me down to over 7:00/km pace - if I had missed that I'd have been under 1:03 for this paddle which is almost respectable.

bike ride (commute) 10:00 [3] 3.0 km (3:20 / km)
shoes: Rocket

walk 10:00 [3] 2.0 km (5:00 / km)

Logging the walking so that when I notice that my foot still hurts, I can remind myself that it's my own damn fault.

Note

Finally took my sore foot to Jacko in fear of being told I had broken it, or some other internal organ had to come out, or I will never be a runner . . .

Turns out I have hurt my cuboid bone (how cute!) and the fix for that was the dreaded 'manipluation' word. Ouch! And I have an extra bit added to my orthotic and I'm not to totter around on my 6" heels, and take just ONE WEEK off running!

Fingers crossed it comes good soon and I can run after Christmas. Thx Jacko! :-)

bike ride (City Beach) 43:26 [3] 15.0 km (2:54 / km)
ahr:131 max:161 shoes: Rocket

This ride started with a complicated process of attaching the bell from the Anthem (long since removed) to the XTC, with the discovery that the Anthem's handlebars are clearly much fatter than those of the XTC.

Stumped briefly.

Then I started digging around in the car for something with which to make a localised area of XTC handlebars wider, and discovered bandaids and sports tape. Then I managed to stick my finger to the handlebars but eventually SORTED and away I went.

It wasn't too horribly windy and yesterday's MTB session didn't take anything out of my legs apparently cos this was a PB or close to it, despite several slows for cars and no rests at lights.

And my little heart got up to 161!!
