walk 1:30:00 [3]

Into town for brekky and back, whale-trail at the Cape, then around town and down to the bay.

Saturday Mar 23, 2013 #

walk 1:00:00 [3] 4.0 km (15:00 / km)

To the race finish, then back, then into Dunsi for beer and dinner

bike ride (Boranup Forest MTB) 1:24:56 [3] 17.72 km (4:48 / km)
shoes: Anthem X 29er

Another bash through the Boranup Forest with Rob from Dirty Detours. I hadn't been on my MTB for AAAAAGES and I was very tentative. Woosy, really. But now I have the GPS trace of where we went so next time I'm down there I should be able to re-create this ride. It's good fun :-)

Friday Mar 22, 2013 #

walk (commute) 1:00:00 [3] 2.5 km (24:00 / km)

And into Dunsi for dinner and wine :-)

learning to run (bike path) 8:06 [3] 1.15 km (7:03 / km)

Includes 3x 100m walk breaks as I force myself to ease back into this!

Foot feels GREAT, toe quite painful but the redness and heat have lessened so that's on the mend.

bike ride (commute) 10:00 [3] 2.5 km (4:00 / km)
shoes: Rocket

walk 10:00 [3] 1.5 km (6:40 / km)

Wednesday Mar 20, 2013 #

walk (commute) 30:00 [3] 2.5 km (12:00 / km)

My plans for a 1km slow and careful jog went out the window when a very painful big toe woke me up in the middle of the night. Now I'm worried I have an infection in there as the toe is still sore, red, and hot.

But I have the other half of my antibiotic prescription from my non-broken toe so I can fix this . . . .

Note

Back home, yippee!! My foot has been pain-free for the three weeks I was away, I got a very cool hike in, and a fair bit of riding around flat boring 1-mile grid streets in the 'burbs of Phoenix.

Once I feel fully alert I'll get back into some organised 'training' . . . .

walk (commute) 30:00 [3] 2.5 km (12:00 / km)

Walked in to work totally pain-free. Walked home via the sheet shop to get new sheets which I am looking forward to falling asleep in - altho pretty sure I could sleep on rocks I'm sooooo tired!

paddle (river) 52:11 [3] 8.01 km (6:31 / km)
shoes: Swordfish

I started a bit later than I had planned due to the nap requirement so I only got 8km done and it was maybe a bit too dark as I was finishing . . .

Tailwind on the way out and headwind coming back which made me concentrate on technique. Considering I've had almost four weeks with no paddling I'm quite happy with this time.
