bike ride (City Beach plus) 56:30 [3] 19.9 km (2:50 / km)
shoes: Rocket

I've decided it's time to up my distance as part of Plan: Consider Cape to Cape.

This was the usual ride to City Beach with a lap of Challenger Pde in the middle. I was hoping for 20km and I was close, just need to go another 100m. :-) Flat bits are good for increasing the average speed!!!

learning to run (bike path) 19:34 [3] 3.01 km (6:30 / km)
ahr:139 max:150

6:25, 6:24, 6:41

I still hate running but today I got to hate it for about a minute less than I did on Monday. I ran the first 1.7km then it was back to my 100m walk breaks when the screaming inside my head of YOU WILL DIE IF YOU KEEP GOING got too obnoxious.

I think this may have been a PB for my 3km route - I did 19:46 in June 2011 but after that I would have been running longer distances so I haven't done this run when at my fittest. But still, PB baby only a month back into running so I will take that!! :-)

bike ride (commute) 10:00 [3] 2.5 km (4:00 / km)

walk (to gym) 20:00 [3] 1.5 km (13:20 / km)

bike ride (spin class) 45:00 [3]

My first ever spin class - I sweated buckets but I think I could have cranked the resistance up more, I just wasn't sure what I was in for!

Weirdly, my cuboid bone, silent for so long, hurt on the uphill climbs.

paddle (windy river) 1:00:00 [3] 8.0 km (7:30 / km)
shoes: Swordfish

The main group took off ahead of me and Steve, who struggled in his carbon tippy ski so I paddled it back from the Narrows for him and he took the Swordy.

That ski was awful, length was too short for me, and I bounced all the way back in the dark, only able to look right in front of me. Then for the first time in forever the UWA boat shed had no lights one so I was aiming for lights 500m past the boat shed.

Thankfully Steve got back at the same time, whew!

learning to run (bike path) 20:00 [3] 3.0 km (6:40 / km)

GPS carked it in the first minute, some bumph about low battery . . .

However I ran the first 1.6km! I did not enjoy it. Then I had three ~100m walk breaks on the way back and a 1:00 stop for cars.

learning to run (bike path) 20:23 [3] 3.0 km (6:48 / km)
ahr:134 max:166

After a totally slack weekend where the most exercise I got was walking to the fish and chips shop with Kirsten, it's time to DO something.

This run was1km jog, 100m walk followed by jogging spurts interspersed with 100m walk breaks. And it was horrible. I'm not sure why I persist with this!

bike ride (commute) 10:00 [3] 2.5 km (4:00 / km)
shoes: Rocket

paddle (T2 sprints) 51:42 [3] 8.05 km (6:25 / km)
shoes: Swordfish

I thought this might feel awful but it didn't. Not that I was super-speedy, but it didn't feel miserable.

We did a long pause-paddling section which I could have done without,
