learning to run (City Beach bike path) 39:19 [3] 6.01 km (6:33 / km)

Almost 2:30 faster than a week ago! I felt reasonably comfortable for large chunks of this and even managed two of the km at under 6:10 pace, one of them was the 5th km!!

I'm not sure if this is a fluke, or if doing my running exercises is helping. I like to think it's the running exercises :-)

I struggled on that first 400m bit as per usual, and clipped a tree at about 1.5km in. I saw Jake right after that, thankfully I had picked myself up by then. One more stack on the first fire trail gravel bit, just before the turn uphill. That was ok cos while I was lying on the ground I saw $2.40! Score.

For the first time ever I got through x files with all limbs remaining attached to the bike, yahoo!

Tiny Joan, now known as pocket rocket the 2nd, came for a jog today and I ended up trying to keep up with her. I also kept telling myself that I really was comfortable and that line of bullshit seemed to work.

I had a 9:45am haircut appointment which meant a late start, and a morning free to do something. Process of elimination meant I was paddling (ran yesterday, spin tonight). And it was COLD but I warmed up nicely on the water.

Usual w/u then :40/:20 x 10, repeat.

I ran for 2.7km nonstop! Well, except for having to wait about 30 seconds for cars. I felt reasonably comfortable too, nice.
