bike ride (Camel Farm plus) 1:34:18 [3] 19.12 km (4:56 / km)
shoes: Anthem X 29er

Group ride with the Silent Revolution girls, great fun. Two laps of the skills track and then off on the KC. After Highway to Dell we did one of the newer tracks, rode back on the road past the usual turnoff and picked up the green track back to Camel Farm.

My legs were quite weary today but that should improve as I get fitter.

core stability session (running exercises) 20:00 [3]

learning to run (UWA running club) 1:00:00 [3]

Good warm up then run through Kings Park. The guy leading the group ran with me the whole way which was really helpful. He taught me to hold on to my breath in for a second before exhaling to allow more time for gas exchange. I think that will be very helpful.

He also said I have excellent technique which really surprised me!

paddle (H Island) 1:28:28 [3] 13.6 km (6:30 / km)
shoes: Swordfish

We battled a serious tide tonight, I thought I was dragging weed! Just over 42min to the 6km point, but then I got slingshotted past the island and averaged under 6:00/km on the way back, including a 5:41km!

Lovely almost warm and flat wind free evening, with dolphins at the start.

core stability session (UWA running club) 1:00:00 [3]

Also with TRX rowing and chest presses ??? I struggled with a lot of the exercises but at the end of the session the guy running it said next week he'd work more closely with me which should help.

I'm feeling bruised from the soft tissue therapy yesterday but I don't LOOK bruised, whew.

bike ride 10:00 [3] 2.5 km (4:00 / km)

learning to run (work circuit) 28:28 [3] 4.43 km (6:26 / km)

My gps couldn't find satellites at the start so I told the others to go ahead and I'd see them at the end of the bike path where I figured they would wait for me. But amazingly I felt really good and I caught them at the1km despite them having a 45sec lead!

First km in 5:46 which is a World Record for me and then I kept running. I slowed down in a couple spots to wait for Demelza so I'm really thrilled with this time, 20sec faster than my previous PB.

core stability session (soft tissue therapy) 1:00:00 [3]

OMFG this was painful. Soft tissue therapy session at UWA's rehab clinic. I knew I was in for ouches when the guy walked in and he is literally twice my size. No joke, he would make Juffy look small.

I told him about my knee pain and he pushed my legs around a bit and said my knees were structurally completely sound, so I didn't need to worry about training causing them any damage. WHEW.

And then he started digging into me with I think all his weight, getting to my hip flexors via my tummy, hitting them from the hip bone, then driving a truck over my quads. All this in an effort to help me stop being so quad dominant.

My left quad feels a bit bruised now, and I will be interested to see if I end up badly bruised with the effects of warfarin! But I think my knees hurt less . . . .
