Planned 2:30 with lots of fire trails and just about nailed it on time! Too bad that's not an Olympic sport.

I thought this would feel pretty difficult after yesterday's road ride and 3/4 bottle of wine but it wasn't too bad. I think Gunjin may have been slightly faster (20min ride time??) and I only had one unclip failure.

I even located the mojo I had left out there last weekend, somewhere on Muffin Tops apparently as the technical bit on Horny Devil which has been my undoing was spot on this time. Yahoo.

Supposed to be 15min steady then 75min big chain ring intervals 6min on 2min off. The headwind meant I could never have got into the big chain ring, I could barely get half way up the middle chain ring. So I did maybe four 3 by 2 intervals then gave it up and decided to just go for a 40km ride.

On the way back I wanted to get back to the intervals but I was getting blown along so fast with almost no effort that if I had gone to the big chain ring I would have been going faster than I'm comfortable with!

55:40 going south, 1:40 total. Big negative split!

Trying to do this once a week, same day same time, to see if I'm improving on the road bike. There are too many traffic lights and road crossings though so I will need to convert this ride to a hills session and start it 3km in at the bottom of the Selby St hill. And then do it 2x.

Resurrecting the running strength exercises, adding foam roller and spiky ball in an attempt to fix this ITB pain that has returned full force. VERY sick of the pain now.
