Planned 20km (again) but decided to turn at 9km and then add a loop on at the end as I was sick of fighting the outgoing tide. However with about 4km to go my hands and feet froze and my technique went to shit as a result. And my wrist was twinging a bit, so I stopped at 18km.

I have intervals planned for tomorrow to make up for the missing 2km!

My recent mystery weight gain hasn't subsided so I popped a Lasix last night and that has fixed it. I feel much better today.

I really REALLY wanted to just go to the shops for a bottle of lovely shiraz, and spend the evening on the couch wrapped in a blanket reading my book. But I was good - I got on the windtrainer for intervals instead.

4 x 4/2 strength stuff with the 4min being 60rpm - had to go a higher gear after the first one as I wasn't feeling particularly challenged
5min cool down

I definitely warmed up!!

2:00/1:00 again, 12min of running and I tried to push the pace during the running bits so that I was really ready for my 1:00 breaks. Judging from the much less than 7:00/km pace, I was successful at that.

After dropping Andrew at the airport I headed straight to the river for 10km before sprints. It was a lovely night, reasonably warm and calm. But sloooooow.

WTF with sprints. Neither T2 nor Mark was there so after the first 1km sprint (where I was much further behind than usual) the guy running it decided we should do a pyramid of efforts, 10-50 strokes. Only problem was that there was a VERY long gap between the end of one round of efforts and the start of the next as he wanted us all in a line before we went again.

So I bailed pretty much immediately.

Definite fueling issues today after a day off work not eating to my usual standard of haute nutrition!
