Note
weight:57.9kg

I got a message from the MOC crew informing me that if I damage my ski and they can't fix it with gaffa tape I can pay $250 for a new one, a Mako or old model V10. If I damage my ski that badly I will just retire to the beach and drink cocktails for the remainder of my week!

And they're currently rating the passes as 'challenging' on Monday, eep !

Still very excited! :-)

bike ride (a real ride) 1:06:38 [3] 24.23 km (2:45 / km)
ahr:107 max:134 shoes: road bike

I don't think the road bike has been on the road since April . . . so I took my chances with the cars and almost got cleaned up in the first 200m when an old man turning right onto the road I was on looked left, right, left, right, but never made any eye contact with me - then turned and had to slam on the brakes to avoid hitting me. Well done grandpa. He was as startled as I was.

Rode down to UWA, then along the river to check out what happens to the bike path through the city now (answer: it just stops with no indication of where to go), back to UWA, along Hackett Drive, back via Park Ave into Kings Park to Rokeby Rd then south again to Aberdare and home the same way I came.

This was just going to be a cruisy ride and it was, mainly because of traffic (cars and pedestrians) and being quite cold.

bike ride 10:00 [3] 2.5 km (4:00 / km)
shoes: Rocket

learning to run 1:02:14 [3] 7.23 km (8:36 / km)

Another attempt at sorting out the ITB issue. Walked the first km, then 15min of 2min on 1min off which is probably 3min too much.

Walked the rest and was quite cold by the time I got home, but hopefully I worked off the hot fudge brownie that was part of 2nd breakfast.

bike ride (windtrainer) 45:00 [3]

I came very close to not doing this, but the fear of being seen in bathers next week motivated me.

paddle (flat river) 1:22:25 [3] 13.01 km (6:20 / km)
shoes: Swordfish

I skived off work early and dragged myself practically kicking and screaming to the river for about an hour of paddling. Apparently having lots of time off is good for me as I was ticking off 6:20 km's without too much effort, so I went 6km then turned.

And then mysteriously I got faster! Around 6:00/km, so I decided 12km was a pissweak effort and I headed across Matilda Bay and into some wind which slowed my average.

I was warm until the last 1.5km when I got so cold that my Celsius thermometer told me 'error' and my Fahrenheit one said 93.2. And that was after I got home and was quite a bit warmer!

Hypothermia , or red wine?

Which would you choose?
