Had breakfast at Artezen Cafe in Dunsborough which does the best scrambled eggs on toast in the world, also had their homemade beans and my first coffee since the rubbish in Mauritius put me right off coffee.

Walked some of that off around the Cape Naturaliste trails. I'm still a whale jinx, people would tell me they were there and then they buggered off when I started looking. Absolutely stunning morning though even with recalcitrant cetaceans.

Weekend down south. I placed my GPS and gloves in a very strategic place on the kitchen bench, so bloody obvious that I couldn't possibly leave without them. And then left without them.

Shame, cos I would have liked a trace of this walk! I headed out on the Chimney Trail, which on my map was the ONLY trail-like thing for miles around. After 500m it split into five directions so I took the one I thought was the most obvious, went about another km and then more splitting. I ended up on the rails to trails which would be dull enough on a bike but was making me catatonic on foot.

Came back via Big Brook Loop and mysteriously got back to the campground without having to call for a rescue.

Hike in to Wilyabrup with beer and cheese and crackers to watch the sunset from the top of Steel Wall. My nemesis climb is still there, of course, taunting me! Sunset was a bit of a fizzler but the wall is always beautiful at dusk.

10min 1 min on,1min off (1.53km)
3:55 cool down, would have been longer but I felt a tiny twinge from my knee so I did the smart thing and stopped (650m)

Going faster didn't feel comfortable at all but it will improve! First attempt at something other than a slow shuffle since January :-)
