Note
(rest day)

Really pleased and delighted with my results over the weekend. Still so surprised with how well I did and how I managed to do all 4 days?! Yesterday was the first day in a long time when I had no pain in my leg so things are looking up. What I've learnt from the weekend is that when I run to my orienteering speed everything turns out dandy. However I did spoil things by running stupidly in the relay but I guess I needed one poo race...1 out of 4 races not bad. Running fast & not looking at the map = LOSER ;)

Training hard for JWOC now and looking forward to some great racing in Stockholm :D

Note

Warm Up - 5 minutes (got told 5 minutes before start fo relay that we weren't doing W Trophy anymore but doing W Short so the start was so soon. Did a quick jog around feeling flustered.

Warm Down - Whoops, nothing. We wanted to leave straight away as needed to do washing etc before going to Stockholm at 5 the next morning :o

Note

Warm Up - 10 minutes jogging. Stretching throughout the morning and before the race

Warm Down - 10 minutes with Meridian and Hazel
1 PM

Orienteering race (Long) 58:07 [5] 8.0 km (7:16 / km)
shoes: Supras

JK Long - Woow :) Couldn't believe how well I did. Thought this would be my worst race out of the 3 cus of my fitness. First half up till radio control took it steady to get nav right (maybe too steady). Then caught Meridian which was cool but then she was on fire and no way I could of kept with her. Continued ignoring the fact I couldn't run fast. Then it went downhill from 11 onwards. Screwed no.12, 14 & 19 badly which lost me the lead. Got in oxygen debt and lost my concentration, legs were like lead from 18 to finish. But hey never expected to be so far up the field. Very challenging for me to complete course but I did it, I ran the whole race (Y)
Juniors = 2nd Best...SILVER MEDALIST FOR JK :O

Note

Warm Up - 10 minutes of jogging and strides. Then some stretching after. I hate not being able to do drills :(

Warm Down - 11 minutes with Meridian in the muddy muddy field and then made my way back to the car with Jaaaasper :D
12 PM

Orienteering race (Middle) 37:03 [5] 5.1 km (7:16 / km) +191m 6:07 / km

JK Middle - Scuffed up no.1 lost most of my time here. Scrappy and messy round rest of the course. Pulled away from Alice B which I was pleased with but the distraction ruined my concentration...I need to work on this.
Juniors = 5th Best

Last training session of the week!
Just a really slow and smooth jog around a sprint area with my Dad. Quite banterful as we took a leg each and kept taking different routes, was amusing.

Bring on tomorrow bitches :P

Running (Strides) 5:00 [2] 0.81 km (6:10 / km)

10 x 70m - focusing on posture and running style

Orienteering (Sprint) 22:00 [3] 4.27 km (5:09 / km)

Sandhurst with Sarah

Took a leg each on the course. Again feeling rusty and need to sharpen my decision making and shouldn't hesitate too much. Went a easy pace but I still found it tough and my breathing felt all over the place..hate being unfit! Sarah also told me my running style was very bad so she gave me some core exercises to do and glute strength stuff to get my bum working.
