Orienteering 56:20 [3] 5.09 km (11:05 / km) +202m 9:14 / km

Relay day for the elites with a steepish run for the rest. Stumbled along again today in the long grass and walking up the steep hills. Only one wobble on 8. No trouble with the rest. Just got very tired in the last little loop.
Must say I was glad I was here and not doing the Eureka event near Daylesford. Sounded gruesome. All results, even the shortest course were won with a time over an hour bar one and that was 53min for a 3K course. Lots of dnf and up to half of each course competitors took an hour and a half to more than 2 hours. Not a great way to advertise orienteering as a fun activity

Managed to go straight to all controls bar 2. Missed top of gully on 2 and had to come back. Aimed off on 4 but couldn't interpret the rock so over shot and had to come back. All others I found but was very slow into them as I struggled to make sense of the rock detail. Extremely difficult in this sandstone rock to decide what is a rock, what is a cliff and what to leave off. Disappointed with this as I had been a bit off colour all week and really struggled to run over the rocks. Stumbled most of it.

Run from home with Ted. I think I need to run more with Ted just to get him fitter. He motors off enthusiastically and then just drifts further and further back.
