Orienteering 1:29:19 [3] 7.0 km (12:45 / km) +281m 10:37 / km
ahr:134 max:159

Vic O event at Glenluce. Went into this with the intention of not trying hard. Didn't want to hurt my calf and have been off colour for 2 weeks. Didn't really enjoy any of this. Any fitness I had has dissipated. It was very steep and rough with lots of regrowth of coffee bush. Stumbled and fell my way around the course and stuffed up 2 controls. Calf twinged going down hill to 8 so walked the rest of the course. Way too tough and long for me. Very dispirited
As a p.s. It always interest me when there is a control on the wrong feature and nobody comments. They either don't notice or choose not to say anything at the risk of upsetting the controller. The one today was only 15 to 20m away and C1 would have seen it as they approached from right angles across the gully. I stopped and had a rethink and a scan, but didn't lose much time. A world ranked controller followed me in and didn't notice but I was standing at the flag at the time. No harm done I know as no-one would have lost significant time there. Just a point of interest to me.

No running for a while so back on the bike. Ok for first half but tired badly in second half. Made even harder by the fact the halfway is the bottom of the ride.

Five K run from home with Ted. Ran ok but calf started to hurt with 100m to go. Bugger.
