Paddle 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: Spirit Double Cross trainer

Subbed in as the forth member of Wal's caffienated team for a team paddling session. Started with Wal in the spirit double once again remembering why we dont paddle it very often. Cam swapped with Wal after a while and then we both swapped into a sevvy which made the spirit double seem nice in comparison. We paddled from the UWA rowing shed around the point almost to Squadies and back.

Cycle 51:00 [3] 16.9 km (3:01 / km)
shoes: Crap bike

Still not much push in the legs.

Didnt see many cyclists out there today, not sure why, it was lovely - nice and warm with the cloud cover and just a light drizzle all the way to work.

Paddle 45:00 [3]
shoes: V10 L

It finally happened...

I was paddling along minding my own business when this blue light appears less than a metre from my ski scaring the absolute shit out of me - I actually felt slightly better when I realised it was attached to a rower (and not a glow in the dark shark or submarine...what was my brain thinking) but only for a second. I only just managed to avoid a straight on hit and ended up swimming.

I jumped back in only to fall in the other side much to to amusement of the rowers who were berating me for paddling on the wrong side of the river (I was crossing and had actually looked but not seen them as they are almost impossible to spot when its that dark). The water was actually not as cold as I would have thought and luckily I had worn my LS shark skin top so the wind chill was not so bad either.

Paddled off a bit shakily and then got laughed at by Wal as well.
Rest of the paddle was a bit dull in comparison, worked at rotating and getting a good catch and intial pull. When it seems to come together, which is only for a minute or so, I swear I can actually feel the boat sit up and skim through the water.

Cycle 50:00 [3] 16.9 km (2:58 / km)
shoes: Crap bike

Managed to catch a draft behind 2 roadies riding side by side and shelter from the headwind until they pulled off at the scout building.

Slowly struggled my way up the hills and the rest of the way home accompanied by the rain.
