Orienteering 1:05:00 [2] ****
Pawtuckaway Camping Weekend. Ran the green course to spare my Achilles from too much stress. Did not focus enough on the orienteering part and did a 10-15 min mistake. Was mainly cruising in the woods enjoying being out in the woods on a beautiful day (and there were lots of mushrooms which distracted me at times). Running felt good the first 30 min, hit the wall after that.
Running 25:00 [1]
Did some searching after a runner who was reported to suffer from an allergic reaction in the woods.
Paddling 1:00:00 [4] **
Canoe-O with Mark (in his parents' Old Town Canoe). We didn't do enough planning before setting out on the course and didn't make the best route choices (plus that neither of us wanted to do a lot of running). My back and shoulders hurt from the beginning so it was a tough paddle.

Orienteering race 30:00 [2] *****
Night-O with masstart. I really shouldn't have run so hard, but I haven't had so much fun in a long time so I just couldn't resist it. Racing out with all the other guys, seeing their headlights bobbing around in different directions and then swarming in towards the controls, made me feel like racing back in Sweden again. I had teamed up with Mark since he didn't feel like doing the race by himself. I think he had envisioned a leisurely jog, but he was a good sport and kept up with me the first hour. After that we had to slow down a little, which suited me just fine. I did two small errors (1-2 min, mainly due to looking too much on what others were doing), plus a really unnecessary 180 from control #7. It was such a great feeling not seeing anything in the dark, but knowing that the control should be behind a particular boulder or hill and then seeing the light from the reflectors.
