Sunday Nov 19

Event: NEOC: Blue Hills Traverse

Orienteering 45:00 [3] ***
Green course at the Blue Hills Traverse from the trailside museum. 5.1 km, rather easy and enjoyable orienteering. The woods were open and very runnable at times. I did a good race without any real mistakes. I had planned to go for a short run after the course to make it a full hour, but my achilles was aching a little so I decided to take it easy.
Strength 25:00 [2]
Strength training, legs (at home)

Saturday Nov 18

Orienteering 30:00 [1] ***
(injured)
Orienteering at Hammond Pond. I re-run an old sprint course mainly to see how my Achilles would react to running and to make up my mind whether I can run the Blue Hill traverse tomorrow. I haven't felt any real pain afterwards, but I had some slight dyscomfort while running so I think I will downgrade to the green recreational course.

Friday Nov 17

Strength 50:00 [3]
(injured)
Strength training, core/upper body (at the gym). I had an hour long incubation in my experiment (between 7:15-8:15 pm after having worked non-stop since 8 am) so I decided to sneak down to the gym.
Biking 40:00 [2]
Biking home from work (along Com Ave). I had the choice of waiting another hour for the next train or to bike...

Thursday Nov 16

Note
(injured)
My achilles is still bothering me, but much better than yesterday.

Wednesday Nov 15

Biking 1:00:00 [1]
weight:161lbs
Biking to work along the Charles. I was tired and not very fast.
Note
I have had two very busy weeks at work with both long and intense experiments, but will try to fill in the gaps in my log when I find some time. Hopefully I will do the last of these experiments (at least for a while) on Friday.
Note
(injured)
My right achilles started aching again in the afternoon. Due to the road running (only 20 min) or too much running in general?

Tuesday Nov 14

Running 40:00 [3]
shoes: Nike AZV
Running from home in the evening in the dark. Followed Lowell St and turned left on Com Ave down to Center St and back. 20 min pavement and 20 min grass. Felt surprisingly good after the races last weekend.
