First time on skies in 2 years. Were late because of freeway 80 closure due to zero visibility in the mountains and many incidents. Could take backcounty roads, but hesitated, was not sure about driveability, and if road is cleaned from snow. Tapio risked and saved more than 1 hour. We staid for 2+ hours in the traffic, not moving at all for a long time. Was wise enough to drive Subaru, didn't spent time putting chains, and driving was way faster and safer.

Weather was really bad, strong wind with snow, children with grandpa managed to get only 1st control on White (not speaking that white was 4km, 6.5km optimal route) and were back. I took white map by mistake, but didn't feel sorrow, as for the first time was quite tired by the end. Also, trails were groomed in the morning, with 5-10 cm fresh snow, which made skating hard task. Last 3 controls were already collected when I got to them, missed control pickup party by some 5 min, not more.

Danville, winter loop in nice company, chatting all the way. Felt little tiredness in the legs, probably due to low recent mileage.

No motivation, but succeeded to have at least 20 min run, than dropped and went for strength and pool.

Note
GregBalter: What is your budget? - two stores - Reliable Racing and Gear West - both internet.
GregBalter: You need ~ 180 cm (175 is better), medium flex (not too hard) - Atomic is good for price, get new atomic boots too - they are very light
GregBalter: Poles need to reach your chin - ~ 157 sm +- 2 cm
Easy run (treadmill) 42:00 [3] 7 km (6:00 / km)
shoes: New Balance 871
Lazy warmup in crowded gym. Would be boring if not a nice companion.
Basketball 1:00:00 [3]
Was tired after 2 weeks of minimum activity. Ran out of gas several times.
Stretching 10:00 [3]
Recovery 20:00 [3]
Was thinking about 30 min swim, but time was late skipped that for now.
