Running warm up/down 34:00 [3] 6.0 km (5:40 / km)
shoes: Asics GT-1000 2

Back to the plan, beautiful morning so glad to be up.

Strength and Conditioning 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: Asics GT-1000 2

Just getting back into things.

Running 1:04:02 [3] 11.31 km (5:40 / km)
shoes: Asics GT-1000 4

Really nice run, including Blackford and The Hermitage again as wanted to be off the roads, lovely weather.

Running 54:10 [3] 7.96 km (6:48 / km)
shoes: Saucony Peregrine 7

Easy run with Rona around Blackford and Braids. Haven't been up there for ages so really enjoyed it, nice weather and good chat. Legs, particularly hamstrings feeling yesterday - DOMS more hill race like than road race.

Running warm up/down 32:48 [3] 5.13 km (6:24 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Hyper Speed 6

Mostly with Mum inc. some drills.

Running race 40:23 [5] 10.0 km (4:02 / km) +162m 3:44 / km
shoes: Asics Gel Hyper Speed 6

Penicuik 10km, just did this for fun as had heard the post race spread was good and the cakes didn't disappoint :). Really steep climb around 2km and the hills didn't stop there, ended up running most of it alone. Different type of tough to a standard 10km but actually finished really strongly and no one passed me from around 2km.

Running warm up/down 34:00 [3] 6.0 km (5:40 / km)
shoes: Asics GT-1000 2

Yoga 40:00 [0]

Still heavy legged, don't really know why as only did one hard race but this should help. Think that's all for today as no strict plans and would like to feel good when the real training begins again. One of the very few weeks of the year where training doesn't take priority so not stressing....

Note

**Added a few more comments to EOC sprint entry, trying to give myself a break but noting things as they come**

Running 27:43 [3] 5.09 km (5:27 / km)
shoes: Asics GT-1000 4

Bit of post Switerland blues, absolute soaking on way home from work but the sun came back out for my run. Plan starts again next week so just an easy WoL loop. More tired than expected, particularly tight lower legs, think it's just a build up of everything I guess (particularly mentally) and perhaps running in different shoes (didn't have my Asics as only hand luggage) but nice to be out.

Running 32:41 [3] 5.04 km (6:29 / km)
shoes: Nike

Pre breakfast easy morning run before travelling home via Milan. From apartment across the border to Italy, then along the lake and back. The pull all the way back up the hill was tough even at a slow pace.

Running warm up/down 36:18 [3] 6.1 km (5:57 / km)
shoes: Nike

Wu - usual including 1x90secs, strides and drills plus warm up map.
Wd - with Alice and Jo.

Orienteering 16:03 [5] 3.35 km (4:47 / km)
shoes: Saucony Kinvara TR2

European Champs Sprint Heat.
I didn’t qualify but it wasn’t a poor race. The standard is getting higher and higher and although I’ve improved sadly I’m still not good enough at the moment. Need to keep improving in every way. Really pleased with mental side though, noticeable improvement. Not sure about some of my routes. Lost more on the long leg that I thought so a lot closer to where I want to be that thought. Caught by Mironova and went with her on the long leg...where she dropped 7 places and 40secs...at this level I didn't have the confidence to make my own decision.

Looking at splits I'm running as well as Jo who made the WOC final last year, so although I've still got work to do to be up their with the top girls, this gives me confidence and is definitely an improvement as I was a fair bit of that pace last year.
May add more later when analyse fully.

Main thing to take is another step in the right direction and motivation is high to achieve more. Would have loved to have experienced that final...atmosphere amazing and what a day to be part of GB team with Kris’ medal!

Orienteering 15:23 [3] 2.49 km (6:11 / km)
shoes: Nike

Model map, good to get a feel and loved the narrow passageways.

Running 9:00 [4] 1.33 km (6:46 / km)
shoes: Nike

2x90secs (3mins) on the flattest bit of road I could find. Undulating but moving well. Feeling ready.

Note

Travel to Milan and on to Switzerland.

Running 22:04 [3] 3.97 km (5:34 / km)
shoes: Nike

Easy run post travel along the road from apartment, with Jess and for part Charlotte, trying to keep relatively flat which isn’t easy around here....but feeling good.
