Running 19:15 [3] 3.05 km (6:19 / km)
shoes: Icebug Spirit OLX 6

Orienteering race 35:32 [4] 5.83 km (6:06 / km)
shoes: Icebug Spirit OLX 6

After yesterday's race was obviously in the third team but this gave me a chance to run 1st leg again, something I'd done quite well at in the past. Aim was not to get stressed and rush, focus on orienteering but push hard on the paths. Running well within myself in the control picks really lacking confidence but slowly people dropped of the pack. Did my bit for the team and helped Kirsten when she missed her control. Opened up on easy bit and thought I was going to spectator....wasn't cue lots of running backwards and forwards confused in the car park. Saw Laura pass so somehow was actually leading. Everyone was super supportive/excited through spectator....they obviously hadn't just seen my stupid mistake. Careful around last loop and surprised myself to come in 2nd. Almost really good and certainly better than yesterday! Need to gain the confidence to be able to push away from the pack while remaining in control as today felt like I was holding back but moving in the right direction.

Running 25:38 [3] 2.62 km (9:47 / km)
shoes: Icebug Spirit OLX 6

Orienteering race 1:36:54 [4] 11.8 km (8:13 / km)
shoes: Icebug Spirit OLX 6

Spiked 1, caught Sarah and Welsh. No confidence to 2, poor route to 3, ok to 4 and all went downhill from there. Focusing too much on the tough terrain and not the orienteering. Disappointing race while running for my country. Lots of negative things I could say but really need to focus on the map and believe I can do it (although runs like this make it hard!!!)

Tuesday Sep 5 #

Running warm up/down 4:34 [3] 0.81 km (5:38 / km)
shoes: Asics GT-1000 4

To from/start finish, didn't need any extra running as had been out longer than planned.

Orienteering 44:25 [3] 6.94 km (6:24 / km)
shoes: Asics GT-1000 4

Oban, I thought this was going to be a sprint length...(think Dad got carried away planing). Hilly and tricky with lots of good routechoices but good fun. Definitely got a good amount of hills in the legs again over the past week or so.

Note

3.5 hour walking on Kerrera.

Monday Sep 4 #

Running 31:45 [3] 5.37 km (5:55 / km)
shoes: Asics GT-1000 4

Hilly morning run up Pulpit Hill and up to McCaigs Tower before spending the day on Mull, Staffa and Iona, awesome.
