Running warm up/down 23:27 [3] 3.59 km (6:32 / km)

Inc. drills.

Orienteering 32:21 [4] 6.93 km (4:40 / km)
shoes: Asics GT-1000 4 (2)

Biggar urban.
Good start, lost about 5secs on 6 where took a few steps into the graveyard before realised couldn't get out the other side. Hesitated a bit of 8 as thought I was further along the street than I was.
Then I made a massive mistake at 9 - (1:30). I couldn't get across the road for a start which stressed me out a bit, I took the left hand route of what looked like a 50:50. Came along the burn and turned up where the trees changed to open but there was no control. I then climbed up the hill a bit to check if it was hidden, looking left and right. Couldn't see it and ended up scrambling to top of banking. Ran backwards and forwards along the path and still couldn't see it so got a bit angry as I knew I was in the circle. Ran right around the path back down and here it was visible from the path I'd been on at the bottom - blindingly obvious if you'd come from the right.
Quite a few people had a problem here so although I did overcomplicate it and fail to sort it out, I think there was something funny going on here.
Lost a few seconds again on 10 where I hesitated at an unmapped entrance right before mine and then had to hunt for the control again at the bush but must have been running quite fast as didn't lose as much as thought (or everyone else had same issues).
Quite good through the next few though and no real problems right to the end. Without the big error on 9 I'd have been pretty happy with my run.

Running race 15:03 [5] 4.06 km (3:42 / km)
shoes: Adidas XCS 4

National Short Course XC - Kirkcaldy. Another course with a lack of mud / anything tough, although it was better than last year in that there was a bit of a hill to do 4 times.
Aimed to start slower, knew the pace would be fast from the start so was happy I managed to sit in behind a group I normally beat (we still went through the first km in 3:34 and it was uphill so I hate to think what those ahead did). Started passing people from halfway around the first lap and caught a big group I wanted to beat just after halfway. Only passed by 1 or 2 people really and same girl got me on the line as Cumbernauld. Although paced it better it was still pretty bad - however another decent result as those ahead are all people I'd not expect to beat and ahead of a few who have been beating me (finished 30th).

Running 5:06 [5] 1.41 km (3:37 / km)
ahr:179 shoes: Asics GT-1000 4 (2)

5min test. Wall of wind for 2/3 and nothing I could do, I really did work hard. First one in dark for a while and two groups blocking the path. Really stressful day at work, almost didn't eat my lunch but forced time as knew I had this. Stomach started playing up as a result so took me some time to get out the door. Felt better after running though :). Didn't beat myself up too much after - onwards.
