6x 400m (30secs) 200m (3mins) at the track with Laura.
Pretty bad DOMS all day before the session and knew from last time how broken I was after I did this session last time (even though sounds easy) so can't say I was looking forward to it. Nice spring Edinburgh evening...cold, windy with icy rain, really glad of company as really pushed each other on. Lactic build up unbelievable, jelly jelly jelly all over! Surprised myself though, times alright considering.

Easy, hamstrings (particularly right) tight but legs turning over much better than expected. More Doms coming though. Really tired this afternoon but fine running, think just need more sleep, early night/lie in planned.

Grangemouth. Pretty disappointing as ran around the same time as I've ran in most 10kms over the last year but thought I'd be a bit quicker. Took a bit of a risk at the start and went with Fiona Matheson who I ran exact same time as at Livingston but didn't pay off. Realised after a couple of km was not on the pace today and dropped off before really suffered. Never got going though even after that:(. Didn't help course flooded in places so forced off the path up banks, most people aren't faster than last year. However, still frustrating as times in training consistently showing I'm so much fitter than this time last year...anyway focus is on orienteering at the moment which is good pretty well, can focus again on some running races properly after May. Not going to dwell, good tough session.

Really pleased to be selected for European Champs, this was a major goal for the season :). Allowed myself to recover from JK stresses but now 3 quality hard weeks planned before a taper. I'm in much better shape in all ways than when I raced 2 years ago so looking to take another step forward.
