Sunday Mar 10 #

Running 25:08 [3] 4.17 km (6:02 / km)
shoes: Nike

More transport with bag, back on the road again.

Running warm up/down 44:55 [3] 6.44 km (6:58 / km)
shoes: Icebugs Spirit OLX 2

Inc. drills and sussing out the course.

Running race 26:17 [5] 5.51 km (4:46 / km)
shoes: Icebugs Spirit OLX 2

Gala XC, proper course with hills, mud, burn crossing and even not so nice weather. Not my best performance though, worst of the series relative to those around me. Pretty frustrating but think I tightened up and didn't do my running when felt a bit rubbish. From halfway kept position though, need to stop beating myself up so much!

Saturday Mar 9 #

Running 22:41 [3] 3.65 km (6:13 / km)
shoes: Nike

As transport with bag.

Running warm up/down 26:23 [3] 4.64 km (5:41 / km)
shoes: Nike

Wu inc. drills and hill strides then hot footed it back to station after to continue my social weekend with friends.

Orienteering race 20:44 [5] 4.11 km (5:03 / km)
shoes: Saucony Kinvara TR2

Ponderosa sprint. Nipped off from weekend with uni friends for a few hours as wanted a run out over sprint distance (unfortunately really overplanned). Continued this week’s theme of rather wet weather. Uncomfortable with long leg to 1. Never really got my flow. Bit of a bad route to 5 then wrong side of a crossable but uncrosssble fence at 6 and proceeded to mess up the long leg so got caught from behind. However must remember the rest was fine and I’ve improved a lot if this result now leaves me disappointed. Haven’t done much orienteering racing recently so good place to start back. Key things to work on is still distractions, long legs and keeping focused after errors.

Friday Mar 8 #

Running warm up/down 11:04 [3] 1.95 km (5:41 / km)
shoes: Nike

Orienteering 22:22 [3] 4.05 km (5:31 / km)
shoes: Nike

Would have been rude not to. Cracking wee course, getting head back into orienteering before day of touristing.

Thursday Mar 7 #

Running warm up/down 27:36 [3] 4.82 km (5:44 / km)
shoes: Asics GT-1000 7

Early morning as away tonight, absolutely drenched.

Running tempo 50:00 [4] 10.22 km (4:54 / km)
shoes: Asics GT-1000 7

2x20mins (5mins). Slightly slower than I'd have liked but the fact it was 6am, off only a gel and in pouring rain may have contributed. However, substantially quicker than times from this session previously which is positive.

Wednesday Mar 6 #

Running 19:15 [3] 3.4 km (5:40 / km)
shoes: Asics GT-1000 4

Wet, wet, wet - day off legs but had to run home from yoga due to timings.

Strength and Conditioning 30:00 [3]
shoes: Asics GT-1000 4

Yoga 35:00 [0]

Spinning 40:00 [3]
shoes: Asics GT-1000 2

Tuesday Mar 5 #

Running warm up/down 34:32 [3] 6.02 km (5:44 / km)
shoes: Asics GT-1000 7

Inc. drills before. Thought of pancakes helped me drag myself home! Hamstrings complaining.

Running intervals 27:52 [5] 5.9 km (4:43 / km)
shoes: Asics GT-1000 7

5x1km (2mins) @5km pace. Standard first couple a bit fast until I got the pace in my head, didn't drop off the pace due to that on last ones though so better than few weeks ago.

Monday Mar 4 #

Running warm up/down 34:00 [3] 6.0 km (5:40 / km)
shoes: Asics GT-1000 4

Strength and Conditioning 1:00:00 [3]

Easy with Sophie.
