Lovely run around the damn with Charlotte. Stomach played up in first km or so and super humid but good chat kept me happy. Miss my fellow sprinters!

So much I want to grump about...please tell me what I’m doing wrong. Long period of planned consistent training - can’t run a PB but as Dad would say “get a grip”.

Reality: Took a risk after chat with Lecky. Ran on feel but went off to hard as usual and ran a really poor 4th km where lost all my time. I literally felt awful, legs jelly and full fight with my body and was unfortunately caught in no mans land. Sometimes risks don’t pay off but you have to try, I’m going to try another approach next time of going of slow, I’ve nothing to lose.

More concerning I took a really funny turn when finished, very close to fainting. Had to grab the barriers, could feel my head rolling back and got myself to ground then couldn’t control my breathing. Felt sick (sometimes violently for next 4hrs so standard post race bad sleep). Think it might be TOM related (also very humid).

Only marginally faster than dirty night on the Meadows but I won’t give up. Tour of Fife here I come with aggression!

Note
(rest day)

I've 4 races in the next 5 days so following the plan, hate tapering. Refreshed and raring to go though so I guess that's the idea. Good catch up chat with Lecky, discussed plan including race tomorrow.

shoes: Asics GT-1000 4 (2)

Running 9:00 [4] 1.52 km (5:55 / km)

2x90secs (3mins). Hopefully not a teasing lack of wind again but I'm feeling pretty good.

Note

Massage with Rory, tight hip flexors loosened off which was really needed.
