Running warm up/down 23:05 [3] 3.46 km (6:40 / km)
shoes: Saucony Peregrine ISO

Inc. drills.

Running race 31:02 [5] 7.05 km (4:24 / km) +59m 4:14 / km
shoes: Saucony Peregrine ISO

2 nations run. Started/finished at Paxton House and crossed the chain bridge into England and back. Trails, fields, lanes, mud and finished with a steep hill. Started slower which helped. On my own a lot so once I had gaps either side just tried to enjoy it, love being in the countryside.

Cycling 2:07:33 [3] 54.12 km (2:21 / km) +309m 2:17 / km
shoes: Saucony Peregrine ISO

Back from Paxton via Cornhill with Dad on mountain bikes with road tyres. Shifting in places but also some off road as Heb will be. Good to get on the bike after running and suss out teamwork (chance for Dad to get his own back after run!)

Saturday Jul 27 #

Running long 2:24:25 [3] 22.91 km (6:18 / km) +320m 5:54 / km
shoes: Saucony Peregrine ISO

Mostly trails of varying roughness with some hills. Monteviot loop, then to Ancrum and back over the hill (straight through woods which made me very happy I’m not doing 6days).

Friday Jul 26 #

Running 1:14:38 [3] 12.33 km (6:03 / km) +223m 5:33 / km
shoes: Saucony Peregrine ISO

Catch up with Sara on the trails in Lanton and back via golf course loop. Rough in places but great company.

Running 39:35 [3] 7.07 km (5:36 / km) +124m 5:09 / km
shoes: Asics GT-1000 7

Pre breakfast clockwise this time around the lake with the old man, roasting already.

Orienteering 31:45 [3] 3.6 km (8:49 / km) +153m 7:16 / km
shoes: Saucony Peregrine ISO

Schöckl mountain near Graz on way back north. Typical alpine terrain. Wee course, some terrain running and yet more steep hills/amazing views.

Tuesday Jul 23 #

Running long 1:23:00 [3] 12.0 km (6:55 / km) +405m 5:55 / km

Bled to Vintner Gorge. Then end of gorge up over Hom and back to Bled. Some with Dad and Mum. More nice hills for the legs and mountains views for miles. Very hot, not a cloud!

Kayaking 30:00 [3]

Heb training with Dad on Lake Bled. Practice for the race so hard work for me (will definitely have DOMS).The views might rival on the Hebrides but it will likely be a whole lot rougher.

Cycling 49:30 [3] 16.2 km (3:03 / km) +256m 2:50 / km
shoes: Asics GT-1000 7

And to complete the full Heb training set, out on mountain bike with Dad. Climbing all the way out with a lovely hairpins 12% climb but flew back with lots of mountain views.

Note

Eased legs swimming in Lake Bled. Body feeling good, this is the life! Going home to work/rain will be tough.

Monday Jul 22 #

Running 15:42 [3] 2.51 km (6:15 / km) +25m 5:57 / km
shoes: Asics GT-1000 7

Morning run in Graz with Dad to collect the hire car....which turned out to be a lot closer than we thought!

Running 1:07:51 [3] 10.6 km (6:24 / km) +231m 5:46 / km
shoes: Asics GT-1000 7

Easy around Lake Bled with parents then up to the castle with Dad (yet more steep steps and hills). Felt yucky to start but improved as run went. Beautiful views but very hot.
