Strength and Conditioning 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: Asics GT-1000 4 (2)

Think this actually helped the legs, either that or will just shift the DOMS elsewhere.

Spinning 45:00 [3]
shoes: Asics GT-1000 4

Swapped my easy lunchtime run for a spin to flush the legs out. Hardest bit was getting on/off the bike.

Running 1:07:45 [3] 12.01 km (5:38 / km) +137m 5:20 / km
shoes: Asics GT-1000 7

Easy Walkersknowe with Mum then town loop. Managed to find a rhythm and legs easing.

Running 1:06:16 [3] 8.2 km (8:05 / km) +525m 6:07 / km
shoes: Saucony Peregrine ISO

Ran the Eildon Hill race route with Sara and Dad at an easy pace since it should have been this weekend. Dad and I both struggling to walk down the stairs this morning after yesterday’s effort but legs eased off running. We don’t do Father’s (or Mother’s) day in our house so didn’t even let Dad beat me to the trig point (cue us sprinting like mad approaching the top despite sore legs with Sara shaking her head) but home after for proper hot choc and homemade rhubarb & custard blondies as I do look after the ‘auld yins’.

Yoga 30:00 [0]

This is what my legs were asking for, gave myself a break from core/back this week.

Running warm up/down 18:43 [3] 3.0 km (6:14 / km) +24m 6:00 / km
shoes: Asics GT-1000 8

Warm up only, inc. drills.

Running hills 30:00 [5] 5.84 km (5:08 / km) +410m 3:48 / km
shoes: Asics GT-1000 8

Scottish Athletics hill challenge (30mins, as much elevation as possible but with no more than 100m climb in a rep, start/finish same point while staying local). Exchange Street reps from Friars to 90 left before Tudhope (4th steepest road in town in Scotland). Really tough grind mentally and physically but really good session. Downhills improved but left leg tightness held me back slightly as not worth aggravating. Garmins etc. aren’t up to this so SA having problems/having to do manual calculations but just submitted downloaded data of 384m, (once I made sure was ahead of Dad because I was) even though ran 410m+. Results pretty meaningless anyway with half adjusted data but after months of doing these challenges know it’s about getting the sessions in the smash the actual races when they come.

Running 33:58 [3] 6.81 km (4:59 / km) +24m 4:54 / km
shoes: Asics GT-1000 8

Walked back up the hill and on to Roma Cottage. Then ran home with Dad via Bonjedward for some WHW mostly downhill miles. Tired legs/ body and very ready for proper breakfast by the end (only had a couple of PB oatcakes and Active Root before for stomach).

Running 9:21 [3] 1.66 km (5:38 / km) +30m 5:10 / km
shoes: Asics GT-1000 7

Evening stretching the legs after this mornings exertions...

Running 8:18 [4] 1.97 km (4:13 / km) +11m 4:06 / km
shoes: Asics GT-1000 7

...including a little bit pacier run along the ‘WHW to Fort William’ before passing the baton to my sister to sprint the last 500m. Team Maxwell House have finished! Lots of stretching and rolling for me tonight.

Strength and Conditioning 17:30 [3]
(rest day)

Since this is meant to be an easy week. Swapped some stuff about too to let gluts etc. recover.

Thursday Jun 18, 2020 #

Running 7:05 [3] 1.03 km (6:53 / km) +44m 5:40 / km
shoes: Asics GT-1000 7

Crawling up the hills either side of the house before and after.

Running 46:18 [4] 10.58 km (4:23 / km) +55m 4:16 / km
shoes: Asics GT-1000 7

Trying to get Team Maxwell to "Victoria Bridge" as fast as I could to end WHW leg 2 without being a prat and pushing too hard (plan had been easy run not a session). A good strong team effort, we smashed this leg and already on our way to "Fort William". Left glut and down to knee tight, think from pushing the single leg side planks, usual ball release required.
