Running 23:41 [3] 4.64 km (5:06 / km) +29m 4:57 / km
shoes: Asics GT-1000 8

Leg loosening with strides watching Dad do his virtual 5km.

Running warm up/down 38:12 [3] 6.41 km (5:58 / km) +11m 5:55 / km
shoes: Asics GT-1000 8

Kara and I decided we’d enter this race so we could get a race together to pull eachother along to a fast time but plan backfired when she failed to get a place. Standard wu inc. drills/strides and lap of the course. Super easy after before hightailing it back over the Border (big respect to the old man for coming as support and who said he’d pay all the petrol if I ran sub 18...).

Running race 17:53 [5] 5.03 km (3:33 / km) +11m 3:31 / km
shoes: Asics Tartherzeal 6

PB!!! Only taken 5years (13sec PB but 31secs quicker than Feb). First race in 6months, windy and solo last lap (km) due to small race numbers but good to finally get over that 18min hurdle. Knew I was in shape but handled the pressure well. Decent first race back, boxed ticked but definitely more to come soon.

Running 6:30 [4] 1.32 km (4:55 / km) +5m 4:50 / km
shoes: Asics GT-1000 7

Running warm up/down 34:20 [3] 6.59 km (5:13 / km) +16m 5:09 / km
shoes: Asics GT-1000 8

Running intervals 21:21 [4] 4.14 km (5:09 / km) +9m 5:06 / km
shoes: Asics GT-1000 8

Lovely Scottish summer evening pouring with rain and blowing a gale. With Kara, session was 4x1500m @5km pace off 400m (which changed to 4x5mins in the conditions), I missed reps 2 and 4 due to easy week but still got the legs moving. Felt strong and legs freer after massage.

Strength and Conditioning 30:00 [3]

Running 38:07 [3] 6.6 km (5:47 / km) +112m 5:19 / km
shoes: Asics GT-1000 7

Easy Craiglockhart at lunch, really didn't pick the nicest way up. Legs finally got going after about 4km!

Note

Massage with Rory, really needed and legs already feel better.

Sunday Aug 2, 2020 #

Running 58:11 [3] 12.25 km (4:45 / km) +105m 4:33 / km
shoes: Asics GT-1000 7

Back in Edi, not most scenic route but added some miles to family Railway Relay team (some faster sections in there). Cycle path and Roseburn, actually feeling reasonably good considering the training in the legs.

Yoga 40:00 [0]

Rona and I tried a different video class, didn’t rate it so won’t be doing it again. At least still stretched/chilled (and laughed).

Note

Fantastic week of training up north, well timed first massage in 6months tomorrow to look after the legs. Banking to be sensible then time for a serious taper if I can remember how!?!
