Sunday Oct 4 #

Running warm up/down 32:16 [3] 6.32 km (5:06 / km) +25m 5:00 / km
shoes: Asics GT-1000 8

Standard warm up then raging cool down with Kara. Very aware lots of people would love to run the time I did but disappointing to travel to race when I could have knocked out a solo time trail quicker. 2019-2020 season over and out. Not the planned ending but still managed a PB in a crazy year so can take a lot of positives.

Running race 19:01 [5] 5.06 km (3:45 / km) +8m 3:44 / km
shoes: Asics Tartherzeal 6

Finally race with Kara, finished 23 seconds behind her (aim within 30) but the headwind from halfway, think Edinburgh Park Run, ruined any chance of a good time. Absolute fighting grind (couldn't even run a 4min km!! 3:23s with ease on Tue!), no where to hide on an airfield/time trial format. She's run 17:22/me 17:53 recently, sessions showed we were in shape. Everyone slow (fastest lady only 18:01). Pleased to have each other or there'd probably have been tears. Should say it was great to be racing as we can't control the weather but we were so unlucky as it was actually calm in Edinburgh for once! Kudos to Calum for putting up with our moaning and wise words/reassurance that we are still in shape. Another good session banked if nothing else.

Running 13:09 [3] 2.66 km (4:57 / km) +30m 4:41 / km
shoes: Asics GT-1000 7

Up and out before the worst of the rain, finished in Brochan for some good fuel. As tomorrow's race isn't cancelled decided against Lakes middle as lots of travelling and scrambling about when it's not my preferred discipline isn't the best preparation. Finding controls again will just have to wait a little longer.

Running 11:00 [4] 2.21 km (4:59 / km) +6m 4:55 / km
shoes: Asics GT-1000 7

2x90secs @5km pace (3mins) and strides on the minute.

Yoga 35:00 [0]
(rest day)

Not a cloud in the sky today but a walk it will have to be.

Thursday Oct 1 #

Running 27:43 [3] 5.64 km (4:55 / km) +65m 4:39 / km
shoes: Asics GT-1000 7

Roseburn Park loop with strides. Doing what I know I have to do to feel good but man it's boring.

Strength and Conditioning 17:30 [3]

Wednesday Sep 30 #

Running 33:49 [3] 6.22 km (5:26 / km) +48m 5:14 / km
shoes: Asics GT-1000 7

Easy morning run, a bit breezy.

Strength and Conditioning 30:00 [3]

Tuesday Sep 29 #

Running warm up/down 39:19 [3] 7.78 km (5:03 / km) +50m 4:54 / km
shoes: Asics GT-1000 8

Running intervals 24:59 [4] 4.68 km (5:20 / km) +14m 5:16 / km
shoes: Asics GT-1000 8

Session was 5x1km but I did a taper session and missed the even reps (which annoyingly were the ones with wind behind). Continued around the loop recovery. Nice and controlled but feeling good, happy to be running so fast with ease. Last session of this "season" done.

Monday Sep 28 #

Strength and Conditioning 30:00 [3]

Reduced session.

Running 24:52 [3] 5.12 km (4:51 / km) +49m 4:38 / km
shoes: Asics GT-1000 7

Standard lunch break in reverse.

Running 40:15 [3] 8.25 km (4:53 / km) +53m 4:44 / km
shoes: Asics GT-1000 7

Just ticking over, now proper taper time.
