Cycling 37:14 [3] 13.2 km (2:49 / km) +162m 2:39 / km
shoes: Muddy Fox

Avoiding public transport and all that. Rate the big bike lanes (drivers probably hate them). Thankfully most of the uphill was on the way out so could freewheel most of the return but think it actually helped the legs.

Running long 3:51:07 [3] 26.65 km (8:40 / km) +1691m 6:35 / km
shoes: Saucony Peregrine ISO

Pentland Skyline with my old man. Great day out in the hills, still a couple of sub optimal routes. A lot quicker than Christmas as same effort and I still felt pretty strong at the end but still hate that final descent. Nice way to properly end the training year, now for my end of season break.

Saturday Oct 10 #

Cycling 1:38:00 [3] 34.5 km (2:50 / km) +163m 2:47 / km
shoes: Muddy Fox

Chilled chatty cycle joining up the cycle paths - Crammond, Portobello and back Innocent Railway with a hot choc stop by the beach. Back tyre felt funny on the way to Roseburn and thought it was my imagination. Checked it and it was going flat so we had to change it less than 5mins in! Annoyingly can't find anything wrong with it now but might be the valve...running is much less faff.

Friday Oct 9 #

Running 29:58 [3] 5.26 km (5:42 / km) +98m 5:13 / km
shoes: Saucony Peregrine ISO

Keeping it easy, East Craiglockhart pre breakfast in the autumnal sun.

Strength and Conditioning 17:30 [3]

Running 39:37 [3] 6.99 km (5:40 / km) +80m 5:22 / km
shoes: Nvii Terra+

Wu and run home.

Orienteering 21:30 [3] 3.44 km (6:15 / km) +24m 6:02 / km
shoes: Nvii Terra+

FWTN Calton, first "event" since March. Would have been nice if the map hadn't been totally wrong in multiple places but good to know my SI still works and see my Dad in the passing. Still not a night o fan but it is slightly better than no o.

Wednesday Oct 7 #

Running 30:32 [3] 5.98 km (5:06 / km) +65m 4:51 / km
shoes: Asics GT-1000 4 (2)

It's been a long time! Going to race Rona (who cycles) home one day as I was ahead at Tollcross today.

Yoga 40:00 [0]

First real class since early March. Actually prefer the really small numbers, even managed to stay for relaxation since I don't have to rush to the office so left feeling chilled...wonder how long that will last?!

Strength and Conditioning 30:00 [3]

Lunch break, took about 4 attempts as a frustrating day.

Tuesday Oct 6 #

Running 49:02 [3] 7.98 km (6:09 / km) +71m 5:53 / km
shoes: Asics GT-1000 7

Showing Katrina now lives on the same street as Rona and I so we showed her around all the wee random paths near by. Nice and easy.

Monday Oct 5 #

Time for a break. No sessions/no double days, just running as I please with no real plan and hopefully a planned run with Dad at the weekend before a full proper week off next week.

Strength and Conditioning 30:00 [3]

Feel a little beaten up from flats/fight with the wind, standard calves and even my abs/upper body strangely!

Running 44:51 [3] 8.25 km (5:26 / km) +71m 5:13 / km
shoes: Asics GT-1000 7

Blackford Pond loop with Sophie, not a breath of wind.
