After the JK I said I definintely wasn't running the Scottish Long which was the right decision. Happy to venture into the forest when it's Roseisle though. Can count on one hand the number of forest events I've done since was last here at the 6days last summer so felt a bit of pressure running last leg, especially when the team was doing well. Took very safe routes and was maybe too cafeful in the green areas both due to confidence but taking chances wasn't the right thing in the race situation anyway. Certainly not a bad run, biggest time losses came from bananaing out of controls 3 times rather than actually not finding controls. I ran the whole course alone and it was super fun to be running in such beautiful terrain, having controls generally pop up where I wanted them. Did my job and the team of Dad, Robin and myself won - great for our wee club :). I've said it before but if all forest orienteering was like that you could sign me up straight away!
