Rogaine (Schulstaad Rogaine (24hr)) 9:15:00 [2] 35.0 km (15:51 / km)
shoes: Scarpa walking shoe

Planned a 32k route and had no issues at all with nav - except for 95 at night where we hit about 100m left of the control and went up the gully just to make sure that we weren't below it even though we both felt (correctly) that it was the other way.

Started raining on dark and got pretty damn wet by the time we were back in the HH. Really weird being the only 2 people around the fire at 9.30pm. We had to stand under our umbrellas to eat dinner.

Relatively easy loop including 2k in 8:20 to add a bit of intensity.

Orienteering (Controlling) 1:59:36 [2] 15.77 km (7:35 / km)

Mixed bag of checking controls, MTB inbetween and collecting controls.

The decision to check the last few controls this morning wasn't so great, as it meant I couldn't help out with a few spot fires at the assembly area (lesson learnt for next time). The courses were generally well received with the only real issue being the first control on one of the courses. I'm 100% sure that it was correctly located, as I approached it from two completely different directions and hit the same spot both times. However, I didn't approach it from the start triangle and it appears to have been significantly more difficult from that direction. Not too sure how we could have avoided the problem, especially as it didn't send up any red flags during the setting at all. A few other lessons learnt about controlling a badge, but nothing that had a major impact. It's all about learning after all.

Collected a few controls on the MTB. Was scratching my head about how to carry 4 controls and 3 water cans (thought it was only going to be one) when one of the setters drove up and I off loaded the gear. Really nice ride back to the start.

All in all a good weekend, although I still enjoy setting more.
