Running 51:14 [3] 6.0 mi (8:32 / mi)
shoes: Kinvara #2

Hermann-Rice short plus stuff. A bit of a disjointed run this morning. Poor night's sleep probably led to a very pedestrian pace early on, as I hit my 1.5 mile marker about 40 secs slower than normal. Legs felt strong throughout, but there was just no rhythm and my form felt awkward. Part of the problem may have been some real aching behind my left big toe (sesamoiditis?), a come & go sort of thing over the last few months. In any case, felt okay enough to tack on a little bonus mileage at the end as it was a lovely morning. The distance is a total approximation. 20 runs and about 125 miles for November. Heading in the right direction.

Running 50:46 [3] 6.2 mi (8:11 / mi)
shoes: Kinvara #2

Hermann-Rice long. Chilly morning run after struggling to get out of a warm bed and thoughts of "is Bandera really worth this?" Once I got moving, it was fine. Legs felt rested, although my form felt sloppy & off for most of the run.

Monday Nov 28, 2011 #

Note
(rest day)

Planned zero day.

Sunday Nov 27, 2011 #

Running 45:14 [3] 5.5 mi (8:13 / mi)
shoes: Kinvara #2

Hermann-Rice short. Windy, chilly late afternoon run. Legs never really felt under me, but that's pretty typical of Sunday runs.

Saturday Nov 26, 2011 #

Running 1:32:40 [3] 8.5 mi (10:54 / mi)
shoes: Inov-8 Roclite 295

Saturday trails with TREX. Started half an hour early and felt blah. Once I met up with the group though, things got better. Cees set an honest pace and the 6 or so miles with the group was pretty solid.

Friday Nov 25, 2011 #

Running 24:36 [3] 3.2 mi (7:41 / mi)
shoes: Kinvara #2

Hermann loop. Late-afternoon, "run off the blahs" run. Pushed quite a bit harder than I meant to. Oh well.

Thursday Nov 24, 2011 #

Running 52:19 [3] 6.3 mi (8:18 / mi)
shoes: Kinvara #2

Hermann-Rice long. Early-morning turkey day run. Very solid across the board. Really felt very good.

Wednesday Nov 23, 2011 #

Running 1:28:25 [3] 9.0 mi (9:49 / mi)
shoes: Inov-8 Roclite 295

Mid-morning trails. Excellent run overall. Nice weather and feeling strong. Fitness is starting to come around.

Sunday Nov 20, 2011 #

Running 42:13 [3] 5.0 mi (8:27 / mi)
shoes: Kinvara #2

Allen Pkwy / Memorial loop. Dead legs and a very warm morning meant I wasn't exactly looking forward to this one. But I pushed on through. Legs were definitely tired, but it wasn't the worst run ever. All in all, a very solid week. Chance of running Bandera: 80%.

Saturday Nov 19, 2011 #

Running 2:39:42 [3] 15.0 mi (10:39 / mi)
shoes: Inov-8 X-Talon 212

HTREX Fat Ass. 3 loops on a soupy, warm morning. Went out stupid fast, but managed to settle into a solid pace for much of the rest of the run. Tired at the end, but in a good way.

Friday Nov 18, 2011 #

Running 31:44 [3] 4.0 mi (7:56 / mi)
shoes: Kinvara #2

Hermann long loop. Beautiful morning and a very strong run overall. Super controlled and steady. Days like this are good for the running psyche.

Thursday Nov 17, 2011 #

Note
(rest day)

Planned rest day.

Wednesday Nov 16, 2011 #

Running 24:22 [3] 3.2 mi (7:37 / mi)
shoes: Kinvara #2

Hermann loop. On a tight time constraint this morning, so a hard effort was in order. The pace was okay but didn't match how difficult it felt. I just don't have any leg speed. A little more focus on speed would probably be helpful.

Tuesday Nov 15, 2011 #

Running 45:28 [3] 5.5 mi (8:16 / mi)
shoes: Kinvara #2

Hermann-Rice short. Wasn't looking forward to this one after a late night & poor sleep. And it was fairly sucky overall. Left knee, glute, etc. all ached for the first 3-4 miles, but by the end everything was fine. A pure base-building run. Nothing more.

Monday Nov 14, 2011 #

Running 44:20 [3] 5.5 mi (8:04 / mi)
shoes: Kinvara #2

Hermann-Rice short. Started out achy and dead-legged, but things loosened up after a couple of miles. Never felt especially strong, but the pace ended up being surprisingly solid.

Sunday Nov 13, 2011 #

Walking 21:30 [3] 1.5 mi (14:20 / mi)
shoes: Inov-8 X-Talon 212

Intended to run, but stuff was sore and tired, so I decided to go for a short walk instead. Listen to my body and all that...

Saturday Nov 12, 2011 #

Running 1:57:04 [3] 10.5 mi (11:09 / mi)
shoes: Inov-8 X-Talon 212

Saturday trails with TREX. Very good run with the group. Mariela, Richard, et al headed out at a slower pace and I went with Cees, Kevin, et al. at a pretty spirited clip throughout. Legs went a bit dead over the last half hour or so, but in a good way.

Friday Nov 11, 2011 #

Running 54:21 [3] 6.0 mi (9:04 / mi)
shoes: Inov-8 X-Talon 212

Afternoon trails. After a brutal work day yesterday, I bolted from the office early and hit the trails. Just a wonderful run from start to finish. Hit the gate at Crestwood in a snappy 26:20. Gorgeous weather and strong legs = very nice time. More like this would be good...

Wednesday Nov 9, 2011 #

Running 44:44 [3] 5.5 mi (8:08 / mi)
shoes: Kinvara #2

Hermann-Rice short. Early-morning run (like 4:50 a.m. early) - beautiful full moon and cool conditions. A little bleh during the warm up, but then a very solid effort.

Monday Nov 7, 2011 #

Running 46:02 [3] 5.5 mi (8:22 / mi)
shoes: Kinvara #2

Hermann-Rice short loop. Abbreviated Bandera training begins here. Solid early-morning run. Mild and humid out, but not too bad. Legs got a little heavy over the last mile or so - just the way they should.

Saturday Nov 5, 2011 #

Running 1:09:56 [3] 6.75 mi (10:22 / mi)
shoes: Inov-8 X-Talon 212

Huntsville SP. Getaway run while working the aid station at Little Rocky. Very nice run. Kept the pace honest & ran every step of the last 4.5 miles or so. Good stuff.

Thursday Nov 3, 2011 #

Running 48:35 [3] 4.25 mi (11:26 / mi)
shoes: Inov-8 X-Talon 212

Afternoon trails. Beautiful day and a good run. There were certainly some residual aches and pains, but nothing serious.

Wednesday Nov 2, 2011 #

Running 25:48 [3] 3.2 mi (8:04 / mi)
shoes: Kinvara #2

Hermann loop. Short run to assess things post-CR. Felt pretty decent. The neuroma took a beating on Saturday and it was crying a bit more than usual, but things chilled out after the first mile and it turned out to be a strong, steady little run.
