Running 1:23:43 [3] 8.0 mi (10:28 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Pure Grit

Afternoon trails. Hungover and tired. But it was a gorgeous day and a nice chance to test out the Pure Grits. Very comfy. Hopefully these will turn into a go-to trail shoe. The run itself was fairly slow. Took a nice digger about 2/3 of the way through. Foot felt very good for nearly the entire run, only aching a bit over the last mile.

Running 45:53 [3] 5.5 mi (8:21 / mi)
shoes: Kinvara 2

Hermann-Rice short. All the stars were aligned for an epically shitty run. Poor sleep, aching foot, IPA hangover... And the first strides in some brand new Kinvaras didn't disappoint. But after a few minutes, the foot chilled out nicely & wasn't an issue at all until the last half mile of the run. I was moving pretty slowly (cuz I was tired and hungover and it pea soup weather), but I got the miles in and that's all that matters right now.

Running 34:13 [3] 4.1 mi (8:21 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Pure Connect

Hermann long loop. C minus for the foot. A bit of ache to start, but by the end it was hurting quite a bit. Meh. Otherwise, the run was okay. Managed to push the pain out and stay focused. Legs were early-morning tired, and the pace reflects that fact. A 44-mile February is obviously not what I was planning, but at least I'm running (more or less). The foot is just going to be a day-to-day thing.

Running 28:54 [3] 3.6 mi (8:02 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Pure Connect

Hermann loop plus. I'd give the foot a C+ this morning. Ached fairly early on, but it was manageable throughout. Never felt like I had to compensate or mess with my gait, and that's all that matters. Had a tight window in which to run, so I opted to go a little shorter than planned. Felt pretty steady overall.

Running 43:43 [3] 5.5 mi (7:57 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Pure Connect

Hermann-Rice short. Every run is a test of the foot. This test was particularly interesting because not only was it a back to back run of something more than a couple of miles, but because the Kinvaras were so trashed by yesterday's run (they're pretty much blown out in way less than 300 miles) I had to resort to the Pure Connects. Surprise - foot felt fine. Maybe a little twitch toward the end, and a couple of achy shins from the too-quick mileage ramp up, but that's it. And, honestly, I think I run faster in these shoes. Planned off day tomorrow and then a week of 4-6 milers to try to shake off the rust.
