Saturday trails with HTREX. Small group at 6:00, big group at 7:00. Trails are in sad, sad shape. Vast swaths of the woods are gone on the west side. The parts that are untouched (so far) are overgrown and messy. Good company, but it really isn't much fun running back there right now and I'm not sure how many times I'll do so this summer.

Hermann-Rice short GW. Made a conscious effort to pull back a little and take it easy - should have tried harder. Actually wanted to run at least 15 sec/mile slower - just couldn't settle into the proper pace. Legs were generally okay, but definitely feeling a bit tired. Red wine hangover didn't particularly help matters...

Hermann-Rice long GW. While it was definitely run at an honest pace (not really the intention today), the legs felt terrific throughout and the effort never seemed very hard. Feeling as good running-wise right now as I have at any time over the past year.

Hermann-Rice short GW. Mixed in a bunch of ad hoc fartlek-y stuff for the middle 3.5. Basically picked a landmark and ran hard to it, then ran slow for a bit, and repeated. Threw in a couple of walk breaks every now and then. Completely unstructured and kinda fun.

Hermann-Rice long GW. Legs felt pretty flat for the first 2-3 miles, but I fell into a really nice groove after that. Emptied the tank over the last quarter mile to sneak under 52:00. Running well right now.
