Terry Hershey. Challenging one this morning. Started out okay, but the trails were deceptively sloppy. 95% of the footing was really good, but a couple of spots sent me sliding on my ass, caked in sticky clay. Ugh. Managed to get to the Beltway turnaround in fair shape, but the wheels started to come off after that and the last 3 miles were especially tough.
Hermann long. Speed play day. Progressive pick ups - jog/5K/90%/5K/jog walk x 7. Each set was relatively short - maybe 0.2 mile. Quality over quantity. Especially since the legs were dead all yesterday.
Hermann-Rice long + Braes. A grind. The legs weren't sore or truly dead or anything like that. They just weren't completely there. Never felt in a groove. But, that said, it wasn't an awful run - just not great.
Hermann + Braes. Felt better than I thought I would for the first couple of miles, then the heat and the week's mileage caught up to me. Kept it slow and easy the rest of the way with a bit of walking. Overall, a good week of base building.
