Running 41:52 [3] 5.0 mi (8:22 / mi)
shoes: PureFlow Grey/Green

Law Week 8K. First road race in a loooooong time. Very leisurely first mile before getting to work from miles 2-4. Once I felt okay that I had my work colleagues beat, I let up a bit on the final mile (although, I doubt my legs would have had much to give if I needed them to). Nice change of pace. Maybe I'll do another one in a few years or so...

Yay.

Running 4:12:30 [3] 24.0 mi (10:31 / mi) +1700ft 9:52 / mi
shoes: Altra Lone Peak 1.5

HSP. Unexpected trail closures because of a controlled burn forced a few route changes. Did a double utility easement while the legs were pretty fresh. Good, solid hill work. Probably about 800-900 feet of climbing over about 8.5 miles - not Hardrock, but it's better than nothing. While the left foot got somewhat achy after about 12 miles, it came & went. Nowhere near as problematic as last Saturday. Felt stronger overall too - less walking, solid pace. Tested the AK vest. Pros: super light; good storage; doesn't shift around at all; having the water weight up front just seems right. Cons: a bit of bounce (but I got used to it); noisy sloshing (kind of an annoyance); when the bottles are more than half full, they sort of dig into the ribs a bit. Not yet sure if this is the Miwok answer. Sans bottles, it would make a fantastic race vest.

Running 54:17 [3] 6.5 mi (8:21 / mi)
shoes: PureFlow Grey/Green

Hermann-Rice long. Another-brick-in-the-wall run. No intentions other than getting it done. Legs felt ok - not overly tired or spry.

Running 57:40 [3] 7.1 mi (8:07 / mi)
shoes: PureFlow Grey/Green

Hermann-Rice long + Braes. Really solid effort this morning. Pushed the tempo around most of the Rice loop in 2 x 1.25 miles (approx.) at maybe 7:20 pace. Very sustainable, but definitely another gear.

Running 48:12 [3] 5.8 mi (8:19 / mi)
shoes: PureFlow Grey/Green

Hermann-Rice short. Was a bit anxious about this one. Still somewhat sore when I woke up and the left foot was a touch hurt-y. However, once I got moving, everything was fine. Yay.

Note
(rest day)

This was a no-brainer, as I was pretty sore.
