Running 1:10:31 [3] 7.5 mi (9:24 / mi)
shoes: Altra Olympus

Sat. morning with TREX. Small group started at 6:00 on the roads at a relatively chippy pace. Back just before 7:00 to meet a fairly large group for trails. But a little way's in, I just didn't feel like messing with mud running. Plus, a shitty night's sleep left me feeling pretty tired, so I cut things short.

Note
(rest day)

After a crummy night's sleep, I decided to blow off running today. Root canal was enough of a workout.

Running 52:34 [3] 6.5 mi (8:05 / mi)
shoes: PureFlow 2 DayGlo

Hermann-Rice long. Felt decent, although the legs didn't have quite the pop of the last couple days. Likely only do something short tomorrow so I can make it to my root canal on time. Yay.

Running 47:25 [3] 5.9 mi (8:02 / mi)
shoes: PureFlow 2 DayGlo

Hermann-Rice short. So wanted to stay in bed this morning after thunderstorms woke me up around 3:00 a.m. But dragged my ass out to a very wet track - the MacGregor tunnel was under about 4 feet of water, so a bit of working around was necessary. Once the legs woke up, everything felt very good.

Note
(rest day)

Planned zero, which is just as well given this morning's torrential (but much-needed) rains.

Monday May 26, 2014 #

Running 47:20 [3] 5.8 mi (8:10 / mi)
shoes: PureFlow 2 DayGlo

Hermann-Rice short. Felt really good from the get-go, which often means problems later. And, while the second half of the run was definitely a bit of a grind in the heat, things didn't fall apart.

Running 56:01 [3] 5.8 mi (9:39 / mi)
shoes: Altra Olympus

Late-morning in the Ho. Ran most of the middle trails (e.g. Yellow, Orange, Roller Coaster...) on a very warm morning. Threw in plenty of short walk breaks to manage the heat. Legs felt good.
