Hiking 5:30:00 [3] 13.0 mi (25:23 / mi)
shoes: Inov8 Roclite 295-v2

Guads - Tejas Trail to Tejas CG and back. After a bit of a morning clusterfuck, this one started somewhat late. The climb up to Lost Peak kicked my ass & from that point on, how I felt was determined by the ingestion of calories. When I ate, there was energy. Once I burned through it, I felt pretty hammered. Still, it was a lovely day in a beautiful place, so it didn't exactly suck.

Hiking 3:00:00 [3] 6.0 mi (30:00 / mi)
shoes: Inov8 Roclite 295-v2

Guads - Devils Den ("Trail" 202). A hot fucking mess. Picked up Trail 202 at the Five Points Vista & quickly realized there wasn't really a trail. There was at some point, because there were occasional cairns to follow. Ended up hoping a barbed wire fence and shortly thereafter becoming significantly turned around. Ended up around where we started. Awesome. Lesson for the day - don't forget the damn compass. Oh, and put on sunscreen, idiot. Followed that with some pleasant road hiking to a lovely spot overlooking North McKittrick Canyon.

Running 47:31 [3] 5.9 mi (8:03 / mi)
shoes: Brooks PureFlow3

Hermann-Rice short. Know what? 20 degrees off the typical morning heat index makes a difference.

Note
(rest day)

Had to drive the kiddo to school, which would have meant a very early wake up call to run. I chose to sleep.

Running 53:38 [3] 6.4 mi (8:23 / mi)
shoes: PureFlow Grey/Green

Hermann-Rice long. Mid-morning effort that saw surprisingly less miserable than expected conditions. Nice breeze & tolerable temps in the shade. Felt pretty solid throughout; maybe a bit tired over the last couple of miles.
