Running warm up/down 42:04 [3] 3.7 km (11:22 / km)
shoes: VJ Integrator

Orienteering race (Scottish Championship ) 1:21:21 [4] 9.0 km (9:02 / km) +280m 7:49 / km
shoes: VJ Integrator

Long Distance Championships at Craig Leach.
Hadn't been in a forest since the British Championship so took it carefully.
Lost 1.30 at 3 when I went straight past the control as it should have been on a pit and there was no pit and a further 1 min at 4 as I wasn't sure of the OOB boundary and bannanaed round it. Relatively clean until 17 when after working hard up the hill I failed to find my attack point (a green blob right across the path) and milled around for a while looking for the control. Tried to use the lower path into 18 but got stuck in major wind-blow and had to drop all the way down below it. OK from there to the finish but legs gone. (Not terrain fit). 6th M60 (3rd Scot)

Wednesday May 22 #

Running warm up/down 32:57 [3] 3.4 km (9:41 / km)
shoes: NVii Sprint

Orienteering race (Lauder sprint) 16:17 [4] 3.2 km (5:05 / km)
shoes: NVii Sprint

Very wet Sprint around Lauder.
Good opportunity to test logistics for running in the wet.
Cap definitely works for keeping glasses relatively clear.
Normal glasses rather than sports ones.
Didn't notice lightweight waterproofs but got a bit warm even in just 16 mins.

Monday May 20 #

Running warm up/down 27:28 [3] 3.1 km (8:52 / km)
shoes: NVii Sprint

Orienteering race (ASOM Sprint Relay) 30:38 [4] 5.7 km (5:22 / km) +125m 4:51 / km
shoes: NVii Sprint

Got called into a team for 2 x 2 Sprint Relay (Each person runs 2 courses).
Tough course but very well planned and gaffled.
Unfortunately failed to register a punch at one of the controls (Garmin shows I went to it and I remember punching.)
Would have finished 2nd SV team but had fun and enjoyed the racing

Sunday May 19 #

Running warm up/down 53:23 [3] 5.5 km (9:42 / km)
shoes: saucony endorphine

Orienteering race (Leuven City Race) 47:08 [5] 9.2 km (5:07 / km)
shoes: saucony endorphine

Long tough race with lots of route choice and intricate bits (37 controls)
A small error early on otherwise clean. Tired and just trying to stay smooth towards the end.
Finished 4th MSV and 5th over the 3 races.
