nice day, pretty good forest
first time wearing my falcons
- stupid mistake from the very first control. i did not know everyone's loops were different.... took me like 7 minutes and alot of energy to get #1
- rest of loop 1 went good. caught up to igor a few times, but then either had to tie my shoes or, make little mistakes.
- loop 2 started off fine. almost caught that crazy TOC guy on 2nd, then the next leg needed to traverse a whole hills. the shoes stick to rocks like glue, and since these rocks are not very big, i roll on them and then hit my legs. plus both of my shoes' laces got undone and were very wobbly. i started to lose grip and made a mistake, then the rest was kinda.. not that enjoyable.
- at 8 i caught up to dimitrov and was taking the control with him, when i rolled my ankle.. pretty badly. i could hardly move for the next leg, and made a huge mistake, where i fell over a fence going up the hill, hit my knee, then same fence going down the hill.. so after that #10 i could hardly move and my left leg was killing me. so i just finished it and that was it for me.
-> bad first impression of the shoes. they get undone very easily and start wobbling on my foot causing rocks to roll on my ankles... i'll need to adapt to them.
-> had a party/picnic after the event. it seemed like i could play soccer and volleyball as long as i was on the grass. then i'd start walking and i would feel my ankle.
on the ride home i guess i got relaxed and now its hard to walk. my ankle is swollen, and ill need to take care of it for a few days.
Long day, i enjoyed it, even with my injury.
I was able to cut through the forest alot and read the contours today, which i was pleased with.
