Control collecting at Cambus/Muir of Dinnet. Very pleasant afternoon with sunshine and cool temperature. Lovely forest, so technical and varied.

Faffing at the JIRCs, to and from starts a few times and a run round a few controls late on looking for a late finisher.
Satisfying day as 4 courses had winning times within the suggested spread and the other 2 courses were won significantly faster - by utterly outstanding runs (M14 won by 6 minutes and W14 by 5 minutes!)
Very impressed by the M18s who managed to cover the 9.5km in sub 80 mins, especially Finlay Todd with his 7.7mins/km.
Compared to last year the times were long - but then last year only one course had a winning time over 40 minutes...

With S, Aboyne bridge to CarnFerg and back via the Fungle. Steady pace up the hill and didn't feel left calf at all. Pleasant day but a bit cooler than of late, maybe Autumn is drawing near ;-)

Hanging controls for JIRCs - started with 15, too many! Better once I was down to 10 or so. Forest in great condition, only got one wet foot in nearly 2 hours of running.

Checking a few map issues. Cloudless skies and warm sun. Nowhere better than user Deeside on a day like this!


2 hours surveying, small extension.

Run back to car. Met farmer and had a good natter about things.

Checking issues on a second area. Tired at start, struggled in middle but lovely forest in second half meant better running.

Usual plus some rolling - painful area is getting smaller and the pressure I can put on it increasing -should be good news.
