Note
Sure ey 2 hours - before 6-Day meeting in Aberdeen.
orienteering 37:00 [5]
Night training Shooting Greens - what a beast of an area at night, even with the bracken down the rocks are grim in much of the area... lost count of the number of times I put a leg into a knee or hip deep hole. Managed to avoid any injury, so bonus.
Burnt off b yhte youngsters on first section downhill till 4 (they just hurled themselves down slopes I was mincing down). But caught them up at 6 (partly due to my stopping short at 5), then stayed with them as they mostly missed the technical controls (large boulders on the lower slope) and was involved i the race to the finish.
Good points - I was orienteering fairly smoothly, my compass work was better than last week, I only missed one control (no flags out).
Bad - I was desperately slow on uphills and also downhills (for different reasons), my compass work wasn't good enough.
steady run warm up/down 24:00 [3]
10 to start, got clunking after about 4-5 minutes but not too badly. 14 back from finish - feeling OK leg-wise, just very unfit on long climb back to car park.
Note
Leg/hip felt better tonight than yesterday, so perhaps running in terrain is mobilising things. Will try to do more terrain running over next few days and see if this helps.
